A Journey - Selina Carter, April 9, 2011 - March 6, 2024

Dearest Furrends: My scribe is typing this entry with a truly heavy heart. Yesterday, I made my journey to The Rainbow Bridge. My doctor, Dr. Daniel, told me in November 2023 that I had something called a "mass" that she could feel when she did something she called "palpating" my underside during my annual well-kitty exam. It didn't hurt - it just felt like she was squeezing me a little. She told Mom&DadKatt, who were there with me (of course) and suggested several options. They decided to start giving me a medicine called prednisone (I called it YUCK ). Dr. D said it would really boost my appetite. Boy, did it! See, MomKatt noticed I'd lost a fair amount of weight in a couple of months prior and she knew something was wrong. I've always been a big (not fat, just big) beautiful one-eyed thang, as y'all know, so this wasn't normal. It's that MomKatt radar - I know all of y'alls pawrents have it. That's why she scooped me up that da

Bag Day!

Image
Meowlo, Peeps! Today is Bag Day and Keaton is demonstrating some of the many different things he can do with an ordinary paper sack from the grocery store. He claims it's environmentally responsible, as he's upcycling a natural resource. Do you buy that? Whatever ...  Anyway, here he is.  As you might notice, he enjoys a variety of bags from different places (i.e. he has no taste and will take ANYTHING that comes along.)  This one is from Lowe's Foods grocery store.    This one is from Jersey Mike's subs. We all loved that one because it smelled soooooo good but he wormed his under it and none of us could get in.       We never got into it and in the end, it's cool because MomKatt got a hilarious photo out of it! (We have NO clue what he's doing in there.  Doesn't he have a great butt, though??)   Uh oh ... bag change! He's got the one MomKatt stole from Ed McKay's used bookstore!    At least he can't tear that one up ...    Or can he?  I don'

An Update!

Image
Meowlo, peeps!     I know, I know ... long time, no meow. My amanuensis has really been lazy since last March. But we're changing our game - I really AM back! And this time, it's different, as I explain below.     (BTW ... Did you know that the word "amanuensis" harkens back to the Latin phrase servus a manu which, loosely translated, means "slave with secretarial duties?" Makes you think, doesn't it? I'm meowing at YOU, MomKatt!)     Anyway, I've missed you all and here's an update. We kits are all fine. Keaton turned one year old in October and while he's slowed down a bit, he's still a jerk when he wants to be. At least he's not pouncing directly on top of us (especially Nutmeg - remember, she is/was his favorite toy?) However, he still chases us, still guards the bathroom water bowl (nobody likes the door monitor!) and - with particular regard to moi - chases me to the kitchen window which I use to jump onto the count

Wild Wednesday Featuring Keaton

Image
Meowlo, peeps! I hope my fans are all happy and doing well.  MK says it's very cold outside and that I'm lucky I'm a 100% indoor kitty.  She said there are not any laps outside to keep warm in!  What cat is crazy enough to go out? For those who don't know, we have a new bratty brofur, Keaton.  MK named him after her favorite silent actor, Buster Keaton, because she said that they both perform their own stunts and always bounced back no matter how hard or dangerous the stunt was. He is 8 months old and slinks around like he owns the place.  Humph.  He thinks that my poor sisfur, Nutmeg, is his personal sparring partner and jumps on her every time he gets a chance!  He nails Rachel, too, but she manages to get away from him. He tries to tangle with me once in a while.  Sometimes I let him and give him a good bunny-kicking, but most times, I give him my patented "Back Off" paw!  Then he'll go damage the sofa, patrol the bathroom (showers are fun!) or shred a

It's Been Awhile

Image
Meowlo, peeps! I'm back again!  I know it's been a good, long time since you've heard from me.  MomKatt says it's "life."  You get it, I'm sure.  Hoomans get so torqued out about "real life" that they sometimes neglect their duties as our kitty scribes, don't they? Well, there have been many things that have happened since I last wrote, so I'll be telling you about them.  Some are sad, some are funny and some are going to be complaints about our new devil-spawn ... excuse me ... BRAT ... brother named Keaton!  He came to live with us last October and me and girls ... well ... let's just say ... BOYS!  Humph.  And boy, will you be hearing about HIM! Meanwhile, here is the newest picture of me. Purrz, kiddos!   Selina

Hi peeps! Yes, it's me! Back again after a little over a year. I've missed you all and hope some of you at least are still hanging in there with me. My friend Summer's blog is having traffic troubles. I hear in the blog community that this is happening with other cat bloggers, too. So I thought I'd better try mine out, because MK and I were worried that the link was no longer in service. If there's anyone out there that still subscribes, please let us know if you can comment. MK's been thinking about reviving my blog because we DID enjoy posting my adventures for you all to experience and learn about! But we got slack (ahem, MK got slack. I've been here all along and would have been updating had I had AN OPPOSABLE THUMB! Why can't we get THOSE on Amazon????) All the kits here are well, but last week we were told Boudicca was diabetic. MK and DK are trying the food change route first, before they decide whether to do insulin injections. DK can&#
