Watchful Wednseday - Vigilance
V is for "vigilance" - which I need a lot of around here.
What a morning, peeps!
Boudicca snuck past DadKatt and escaped the basement THREE TIMES this morning - stubborn, wobbly little wench that she is. (You KNOW she's jealous because I'm so svelte and sleek and she's such afat oblongly-challenged so-and-so ...)
Anyway, later I was on the kitchen counter (this pic was a bit earlier this morning on Mom&DadKatt's bathroom counter) minding my own business, having just finished a nice yummy bowl of Blue Buffalo Wilderness gooshy fud (salmon flavor), and there she was, BRAZENLY displaying herself, right in front of the refrigerator, acting all "innocent" (shhh'yeah RIGHT!) and STARING at me! I HATE it when she does that!
MomKatt shooed her out, then she came back (like a bad penny) and, next thing they both knew (MomKatt was eating at the dining room table, with her back to the counter, and DadKatt was fixing his breakfast), she'd hauled her wobbly self onto the counter! (It was MomKatt's fault, really, because she had cleaned the chair next to the counter last night, so there was less "stuff" there to block her access.) Of course, I bolted for the top of the kitchen cabinets, displaying my amazing athletic prowess (while simultaneously pointing out her LACK of same) by leaping the 49 inches from counter top to cabinet top, then looking down as if to meow, "Naaaayyyyhhh! You're too blubbery big to get up here! Now leave me alone!"
(Hee hee ... Plus, I ran RIGHT in front of DadKatt who was trying to make toast at the time. He was astonished.)
So DadKatt ran Boudicca out of the kitchen AGAIN, and, for about the fourth time this morning, finally escorted her OUT of the main part of the house & back into the basement. But before she went, she cocked a snook at Sasha, who was also minding her own business and having a morning kip in one of the dining room chairs. She, too, didn't take kindly to Blubber Butt's " 'tude". But then, after I'd come down from the cabinets and was lovin' all over MomKatt's legs under the table, I happened to walk by the chair where Sasha was lying and SHE struck some 'tude with ME!
I was like, "Hey, where's the love here?!" and ran into the living room, where DadKatt was watching the World Baseball Classic.
"Displaced aggression", MomKatt told DadKatt when she ran into the living room to comfort me. *sigh*
Why can't everycat just GET ALONG?!?!?
Boy, I hope my cousin will be able to give Boudicca a home (Mom&DadKatt's niece). She meets her on St. Patrick's Day but we won't know whether she'll be able to take her right away, because she's promised a friend in Cincinnati that she will look at HER cat, who also for some reason needs to be an "only kitty". But she did tell MomKatt that Boudicca was lucky "because I get to meet her first", and not this other cat, whose name is Gracie.
SO. "Miss Zaftig" bettermind her Ps and Qs be on her best behavior, lemme me tell you. I hope she sucks up works it for all she's worth. (And she will, too, if I know anything about that cat. Only this time, I say, "You just GO, girl!")
So yes ... VIGILANCE. Can't live without it.
Ya'll have a good Wednesday - remember, it's Hump Day, halfway to the weekend! (Of course, for cats, everyday is a weekend, but I won't rub it in ... much ... )

Selina are you ruling the house - now you have your paws on the counter? - if we dare to get on our counter Mum knows in a trice and shouts "GET DOWN NOW" and we obey her until her back's turned!!!
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Oh I hope hope hope Boudicca gets adopted! And I hope you all get along better until that day happens! Next time you run past dadcatts breakfast, grab some! MOL
ReplyDeleteOh sweet Boudicca, I want you to have a home where you are queen and sleep with your survunts
ReplyDeletePaws crossed that your cousin can give Boudicca a home! She certainly can disrupt things when she escapes her basement - sort of like those crazy aunts in the attic you hear about from the "old days."
ReplyDeleteYou are certainly back on form Selena! Good to know you are vigilanting again!! ;)
ReplyDeleteWe hope that your cousin can give Boudicca the only-cat home she needs!
ReplyDeleteWhoa! you got a nibble on old Lard Butt, er Boudicca. It'll be better for everyone if she goes. Maybe you should bribe said niece.
ReplyDeleteWe purr very hard that Boudicca can get to live with your cousin Selina.
ReplyDeleteSounds like she needs her own place where she gets all the attention. It would be a super solution for you both :)

Boudicca sure is a stinker! Maybe the niece can take both of those "should be only cats." And we'll throw in our Zoey for good measure! ;)
ReplyDeleteSounds like our house. All the time. **sighs** Have a great day, anyway and we'll be purring fur Boudicca's situation.
