How's This For Coolness?

Meowlo peeps!

 We are all excited here today at the Carter Clowder.  Why, you ask?  Well, because ...

 MOMKATT WON NOMS!

 And not just ANY noms, either:  HALO NOMS!

Better still?  She won noms for THE GOATHOUSE REFUGE!

You can read more about it at The Daily Kibble website, which features MomKatt's win in their "Be An Angel With Halo" contest as their "Today's Scoop" entry.  MomKatt had even forgotten she had entered their contest!  (She says she never wins anything.  MOL)  The prize to the winner was $100 worth of their choice of Halo pet products (cat food in our case).  Additionally, the winner got to name the shelter to which 5,000 meals of Halo's Spot's Stew would be donated!

The Goathouse Refuge is a no-kill shelter located in Pittsboro, NC, founded by potter and artist Siglinda Scarpa seven years ago.  It is comprised of 16 acres where the cats live the good life while waiting for their forever homes.  They roam the property, have hammocks and are closely cared-for and loved.  As the refuge's webpage states, "There aren't many places in today's world that offer ongoing, unconditional care to animals in need, but that's exactly what we provide at the Goathouse Refuge.  We are a cat sanctuary, a place where cats that have been abandoned or lost can be safe and warm and happy, where cats who have had to live at the margins of the modern world can find a place where they are welcome."

How exciting IS this, anyway?  It's seldom that EVERYONE wins, don't you agree?  The Daily Kibble was even kind enough to put in a plug for my blog on the news page!  I want to thank them right here and now for doing that and, even more important, for running that contest and providing shelters with this food bonanza.

In fact ... I'm sitting right next to the noms box in the above photograph - MomKatt, open it already!  What'd we get?

    I loved the Spot's Stew I won from Blogpaws a couple of years ago and so did my shelter. The Goathouse sounds as pawsome as A Call 4 Paws cat sanctuary.

Dearest Furrends: My scribe is typing this entry with a truly heavy heart. Yesterday, I made my journey to The Rainbow Bridge. My doctor, Dr. Daniel, told me in November 2023 that I had something called a "mass" that she could feel when she did something she called "palpating" my underside during my annual well-kitty exam. It didn't hurt - it just felt like she was squeezing me a little. She told Mom&DadKatt, who were there with me (of course) and suggested several options. They decided to start giving me a medicine called prednisone (I called it YUCK ). Dr. D said it would really boost my appetite. Boy, did it! Hi peeps! Yes, it's me! Back again after a little over a year. I've missed you all and hope some of you at least are still hanging in there with me. My friend Summer's blog is having traffic troubles. I hear in the blog community that this is happening with other cat bloggers, too. So I thought I'd better try mine out, because MK and I were worried that the link was no longer in service. If there's anyone out there that still subscribes, please let us know if you can comment.
