One Eye on the Future

Meowlo, Peeps! Since it's Morticia's day on the blog, I thought I'd share some new photos taken of my pretty black sisfur this morning.  She really DOES have beautiful eyes. Her whiskers are balanced again, too.  MOL  She now has one white whisker on each side - she previously did a few weeks ago, but one dropped off, leaving her lop-sided.  Now another one has come in.  ;-) Better her than me!  (She says salt-and-peppers whiskers are sexy.  Whatever.  MOL) Oh, here she is with Peppers this morning, a little later after these shots. I think she's a bit disgusted about annoyed by having her "alone time" on the bed interrupted by him, don't you?  MOL BROFURS!! Meowlo, Peeps. MomKatt was out of town this weekend, visiting her Mother-In-Law, and when she got home, we discovered that I'd been given an award by my good furriend, Cathy Keisha : Cue Photo! Apparently I, too, am "The Next BIG Thing" (after CK of course!) Thank you my furriend! According to her blog page giving me this award, I'm to thank the cat(s) that nominated me (which I just did), nominate five other worthy recipients and answer some questions about a work-in-progress. I'm not sure what exactly that means ... Hi Peeps. 2013 hasn't opened at our house as joyously as we'd have liked.  Yesterday, Jan. 3, 2013, MomKatt had to help my Blue Aby sisfur, Livia, to the Bridge.  Livia was 12-3/4 and would have been 13 years old on April 16 of this year. She'd not been well for some time (either chronic IBD or, like my brofur, Feisal, intestinal lymphoma - MomKatt had had Dr. L give her steroid & cortisone shots, which had eliminated any possibility of a definitive diagnosis because she'd lost so much weight that MomKatt chose not to put her through any more invasive procedures such as biopsies, etc.).  But she was still her cheerful, lively self, never knowing a stranger, always wanting love & food (not necessarily in that order), still running back and forth on the kitchen counters and, in general, being the most loving cat Mom or DadKatt have ever met or known. But things got a little worse New Year's Day.  Basically, Livia was starting to be unable to contr...

As you can see, I'm ready to ring in the new year with 'nip-mosas!  Just waiting for the pawty to start!  Actually, it'll be a quiet evening here a Chez Selina, just us kitties, Mom&DadKatt and my Uncle Joel and Aunt MaryLee nibbling noms, hanging out & sampling some of DadKatt's absinthe (along with some French accordion music - tres chic!) We want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and a safe New Year's Eve.  If you drink, don't drive - grab a cab or a (sober) friend or a hotel room.  If you DO drive for someone who has been indulging, you're giving them a potentially priceless gift:  their lives (and possibly the lives of others).  Just YOU be careful driving like I know you normally do. Better yet - stay home like Mom&DadKatt, love on your kitties, watch festivities on TV and then you can have all the champers you want without worry!  (Well, that head in the morning, but you can handle that, right?  Just go stock up on aspi...

MomKatt & I are taking a much-deserved holiday 'til Jan. 2.  You'll have to wait 'til then to see pics of the new Xmas gift for us!  I know, I know ... but it'll be worth it I promise.  Just didn't want any one worrying about us if they hadn't heard from us in a few days. Just a quick post. This blog wouldn't be possible without all of you.  I'd be meowing into the ether - a pretty useless occupation.  MomKatt & I hope that my adventures entertain you throughout the year, and we LOVE the furriends we've made here. We (Mom&DadKatt, me, the whole Carter clowder) wish you all a Merry Xmas, happy holidays - or however you celebrate the season!
