Happy New Year!



As you can see, I'm ready to ring in the new year with 'nip-mosas!  Just waiting for the pawty to start!  Actually, it'll be a quiet evening here a Chez Selina, just us kitties, Mom&DadKatt and my Uncle Joel and Aunt MaryLee nibbling noms, hanging out & sampling some of DadKatt's absinthe (along with some French accordion music - tres chic!)

 We want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and a safe New Year's Eve.  If you drink, don't drive - grab a cab or a (sober) friend or a hotel room.  If you DO drive for someone who has been indulging, you're giving them a potentially priceless gift:  their lives (and possibly the lives of others).  Just YOU be careful driving like I know you normally do.

 Better yet - stay home like Mom&DadKatt, love on your kitties, watch festivities on TV and then you can have all the champers you want without worry!  (Well, that head in the morning, but you can handle that, right?  Just go stock up on aspirin right now, before you forget it!  MOL)  And drink plenty of water, too!

Seriously, 2012 has been brighter for us because of all of you.  And we really look forward to sharing our lives with you, and knowing all about what is going on with you guys, in 2013.

May the future be better than the past, and may we always treasure the present because, as MomKatt says, that's all we really have.

    Very good advice, Selina! Very good, indeed.

    My peeps are gonna be stayin' home, hangin' with us kitties tonight. Probably watch The Coop on TV and complain when midnight comes and goes here in Atlantic Time and he doesn't give it a mention. Oh, and we've got someone comin' for dinner tomorrow so the peep will be makin' stuff in the kitchen. That's always good 'cause peep #1 in the kitchen is usually good for a treat or two. Good way to bring in the new year.

    Me and Mommy slept thru all the New Years stuff but we DID wanna apologize for not being here in a long time. My favorite human brother is still very sick so mommy gone a lot. She will try harder to visit..

Dearest Furrends: My scribe is typing this entry with a truly heavy heart. Yesterday, I made my journey to The Rainbow Bridge. My doctor, Dr. Daniel, told me in November 2023 that I had something called a "mass" that she could feel when she did something she called "palpating" my underside during my annual well-kitty exam. It didn't hurt - it just felt like she was squeezing me a little. She told Mom&DadKatt, who were there with me (of course) and suggested several options. They decided to start giving me a medicine called prednisone (I called it YUCK ). Dr. D said it would really boost my appetite. Boy, did it! See, MomKatt noticed I'd lost a fair amount of weight in a couple of months prior and she knew something was wrong. Bag Day!

Meowlo, Peeps! Today is Bag Day and Keaton is demonstrating some of the many different things he can do with an ordinary paper sack from the grocery store. He claims it's environmentally responsible, as he's upcycling a natural resource. Do you buy that? Whatever ...  Anyway, here he is.  As you might notice, he enjoys a variety of bags from different places (i.e. he has no taste and will take ANYTHING that comes along.)  This one is from Lowe's Foods grocery store.    This one is from Jersey Mike's subs. We all loved that one because it smelled soooooo good but he wormed his under it and none of us could get in.       We never got into it and in the end, it's cool because MomKatt got a hilarious photo out of it! (We have NO clue what he's doing in there.  Doesn't he have a great butt, though??)   Uh oh ... bag change! He's got the one MomKatt stole from Ed McKay's used bookstore!    At least he can't tear that one up ... ...

Report From Sick Bay

Howdy peeps, First off, THANK YOU so much for everyone's concern, thoughts, messages.  It means so much to me & MomKatt (and DadKatt).  A short update. As you read in the previous entry, Dr. Lofgren said I had a "fever of unknown origin" (and that I also weigh a nice, solid 11 lbs.).  He said, in a cat as young as I, these usually are caused by just something I've picked up.  He noted that I hadn't lost any weight, and that my gums were nice & pink, so those were good signs.   He gave me antibiotics in a shot and Sub-Q fluids yesterday and, when MomKatt picked me up, my temp was down from 104.2 to 103.  (He told her normal was 100-102.)  I ate my gooshy food once I got home and spent all night on MomKatt's lap on the sofa - I WENT to the sofa MYSELF this time, she didn't have to carry me into the living room.  *I* knew where I wanted to snuggle!
