MomKatt Monday!

I'd like to introduce you to a very special purr-son in my life.  Without further ado ... me and MomKatt!

No, I'm not attempting to get away!  MOL  That's just how I usually end up when I'm held.  I don't like being held for TOO long; I don't mind it, but more than a couple of minutes and I get all wiggly!  MOL

DadKatt was trying to get the best shot possible & he didn't tell MomKatt when to smile in the first two so this was the third pic!

Anyway, I love her very much & she guards me from Boudicca!  (Plus does lots of other things.)

So I'm declaring today NATIONAL MOMKATT DAY!  Kitties everywhere, go nuzzle your MomKatts & let 'em know you love 'em!

PURRS!

Selina

PS - MomKatt update:  A query she sent last month to History magazine concerning an article proposal got accepted today!  It's her first major magazine acceptance since she stopped writing for Teddy Bear & Friends magazine in 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She'll be writing a piece on the Civil War Campaign Medal issued as an adjunct to the coveted Medal of Honor!

I'm furry purr-oud of her!

    1. Hi Connie, MomKatt Laura here!

I'd written the query Jan. 9, and had not heard back from the editor, so this morning, I forwarded the original query as a follow-up inquiry and not 10 min. later, there was a reply from him in my "In" box, accepting the proposal!!!

I was shocked! But in a good way!

  7. I am impressed that you stayed still - well, still enough - for three photos! I don't think I've ever made over two. My human says concatulations to your human - she is a writer too (she has a story coming out in April in the 2012 edition of Kittens USA), and she knows what an accomplishment it is to get a query accepted!

    1. Thank you! MomKatt is trying to decide what she wants to do with her writing. It's a long story, but she's in a "real" job she would rather trade for the writing life & is trying to get up nerve enough to make the leap!

  8. Target is the cuddler in our family and Guido is also quite sweet (esp at 3AM!)

Concats to your mummy! What fun to enter a different genre. We write fulltime for newspapers and magazines. It's nice to have a job you love, isn't it?

    1. Well, MomKatt has a "real" job that has nothing to do with writing, but she's trying to get to the point where that might just change ... She loves being creative, it brings her much more personal satisfaction than the "real" slog ... um, job.

  11. I'm a wiggler, too, Selina! Hooray for MomKatts effurywhere.

HUGE, WONDERFUL, FANTASTIC! Congratulations, MomKatt Laura! We just know that more great things are on the horizon for you. Happy Lincoln's Birthday!

Now here's a shocker. You look enough like my sister to be her twin! Did I mention that I started on clarinet, then a year later, went on to alto sax and later added the tenor?

    1. Ooo MomKatt played piano for 13 years (classically trained) then did clarinet & alto sax in high school!

      That IS very coincidental!!
