Good news, bad news

Mornin', peeps!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

The good news today is, I actually got OFF of the couch!  Here I am in Pink Bed where MomKatt found me this morning when she got up.  (Of course, I felt like I was in an installment of "Men In Black", as naturally the flashy thing got me in my repose.)

And there was much rejoicing.

The bad news for today is ... our AC is on the fritz, DadKatt is home waiting for the AC guy and, thus, a certain "cow cat" is loose soooo ... 

Where was I when MomKatt left for work?

Yup.  You guessed it.

*sigh*  I honestly think a girl katt can't win for losing ...

PS - Health-wise, all joking aside, I seem to be much improved.  In fact, I AM!  However, MomKatt is DEEPLY troubled & concerned about me psychologically with regard to Boudicca ... *sigh*  She is going to look up Alasandra's suggested website, http://www.rescueme.org/, later on this morning.

      Yes, Brian, Mom&DadKatt are very relieved ... they were quite worried about me. Anything "unknown" is scary for us kitties, isn't it? :(

    I'm so glad you're feeling a lot better. As for the other issue... well... all I can tell you is that when my two marmalade brothers start acting up, the peep always tells 'em to love one another. It doesn't really work. They don't really listen to her. But if you think it's worth a try, I could always send the peep over to have a little chat with you-know-who. Do you think you-know-who would listen to the peep?

    Hopefully, the A/C stranger will not be there long. We just recently had a major plumbing problem that required Two Plumber Strangers to be around to two days! That was bad and don't even get me started on the Plumbers Crack visions I had to put up with.

    Whew!!! The good news is great!! We were worried about the bad news but since a kitty is not involved, it's OK :) We purr the AC gets fixed soon !!!!!

    Selina feeling better is not just good news, it's great news! We do hope the AC got fixed (for less than a small fortune), and wish we could help with the B problem. Staying on top of the cabinets is not such a bad plan, Selina, though we know it worries your 'rents. Purrrrrrrrrrs.

    I don't understand why your peeps just don't keep her in the basement or locked in the bedroom. That's what my peeps did when Nicky and Autumn didn't get along and Autumn was very happy in there not getting bullied. That's also the reason my peeps returned Isabel. I didn't like her and they didn't want to lock one of us away.

      DadKatt feels badly about keeping her away from human contact 24/7. MomKatt thought the idea of keeping her out when they were there, and putting her up when they were NOT there was a good compromise until they could find a new home for her. After all, they don't want her to NOT like to be around people - that would defeat the purpose.

      DadKatt also says there are lots of summer nasties down in the basement (spiders, etc.) and he doesn't want to keep her down there all the time because of that. *sigh*

      It's a difficult situation at best. MomKatt is coping the best she can & trying to "run interference" ... not an enviable position in which to be ...

Dearest Furrends: My scribe is typing this entry with a truly heavy heart. Yesterday, I made my journey to The Rainbow Bridge. My doctor, Dr. Daniel, told me in November 2023 that I had something called a "mass" that she could feel when she did something she called "palpating" my underside during my annual well-kitty exam. It didn't hurt - it just felt like she was squeezing me a little. She told Mom&DadKatt, who were there with me (of course) and suggested several options. They decided to start giving me a medicine called prednisone (I called it YUCK ). Dr. D said it would really boost my appetite. Boy, did it! See, MomKatt noticed I'd lost a fair amount of weight in a couple of months prior and she knew something was wrong. Bag Day!

Meowlo, Peeps! Today is Bag Day and Keaton is demonstrating some of the many different things he can do with an ordinary paper sack from the grocery store. He claims it's environmentally responsible, as he's upcycling a natural resource. Do you buy that? Whatever ...  Anyway, here he is.  As you might notice, he enjoys a variety of bags from different places (i.e. he has no taste and will take ANYTHING that comes along.)  This one is from Lowe's Foods grocery store.    This one is from Jersey Mike's subs. We all loved that one because it smelled soooooo good but he wormed his under it and none of us could get in.       We never got into it and in the end, it's cool because MomKatt got a hilarious photo out of it! (We have NO clue what he's doing in there.  Doesn't he have a great butt, though??)   Uh oh ... bag change! He's got the one MomKatt stole from Ed McKay's used bookstore!    At least he can't tear that one up ... ...

Report From Sick Bay

Howdy peeps, First off, THANK YOU so much for everyone's concern, thoughts, messages.  It means so much to me & MomKatt (and DadKatt).  A short update. As you read in the previous entry, Dr. Lofgren said I had a "fever of unknown origin" (and that I also weigh a nice, solid 11 lbs.).  He said, in a cat as young as I, these usually are caused by just something I've picked up.  He noted that I hadn't lost any weight, and that my gums were nice & pink, so those were good signs.   He gave me antibiotics in a shot and Sub-Q fluids yesterday and, when MomKatt picked me up, my temp was down from 104.2 to 103.  (He told her normal was 100-102.)  I ate my gooshy food once I got home and spent all night on MomKatt's lap on the sofa - I WENT to the sofa MYSELF this time, she didn't have to carry me into the living room.  *I* knew where I wanted to snuggle!
