A Sad Week
Meowlo peeps.
Quick update, since I've not written in a few days. My oldest brofur, Sharif, experienced a RAPID onset of acute kidney failure over the last week and Mom&DadKatt had to help him to The Bridge on Monday. Needless to say, they are both very upset. Sharif was their first cat, 16-3/4 years old, they got him one month after they got married - so he'd been with them throughout their entire married life up to his death. MomKatt's taking it pretty hard - and this was to be their vacation week attending some races they'd both been looking forward to at VIR nearby (Virginia International Raceway) w/company coming in from Seattle.
So they are still doing that, with MomKatt going back & forth from the house to the track to take care of us ... but there was nothing they could've done for him, his path downhill was SO fast - even from the time that MomKatt took him to the vet Mon. morning for a mini-panel blood workup until she & DadKatt got there late that afternoon to send him on his journey, he was already going into a stage of nausea, drooling, hideous-smelling breath ... all clear indications, along with his numbers being 100-125% above normal, that he was dying.
So I will probably not be around much 'til next week. MomKatt says to say thank you to everyone who's posted on her Facebook page, that she will read the comments, she just can't right now because she starts crying. I must say, I could not have had a nicer big brofur. Sharif was friendly to all who approached him, very laid back and just a nice, wonderful Meezer. MomKatt says she'd get another cat from his breeder in a heartbeat.
We're typing on DadKatt's PC right now so I don't have a pic to post of him but here is his Catster page for those of my readers who haven't met him yet.

Selina, we are so sorry to read this. We lost our sweet Minnie Pumpkin exactly this way when she was only 10 years old. Our hearts go out to you and your parents.
