No, I haven't had kittens!

MomKatt's got a horrible head cold.  I thought she was going to cough her lungs out into the kitchen sink this morning.  She's no good for nuthin' today.  So I, Nurse Selina, am on duty.

As you can see, it's mostly an easy job - at least until she gets on a coughing jag.  And of course, those usually begin JUST when I've settled down and positioned myself just right on the blanket.  Then I get bounced around like a rubber ball!

Oh well, it's a living I suppose.  Morticia couldn't put up with it, so she abandoned MomKatt's lap earlier this morning, leaving it wide open for moi.  I've gotten her tissues, a big book, cough drops, her coffee and her glasses.  Yep, and a movie ready to go.  DadKatt's helping too (it's nice of him, since HE gave her this crud to begin with!)  We'll have her up & around in no time.

Meanwhile, we both hope you guys are having better Sundays than we she is.  Me, I'm fine ...

 As long as she doesn't cough ... *sigh*

    We hope your MomKatt is better soon or you'll be quite exhausted Selina. In any case we think your need a squillion long naps to recover from the bouncing about you'll be getting when she coughs.

    Purrz to your MomKatt. TW got a flu shot Friday and now she's as sick as a dog. She can't breathe and she's wheezing and just feeling crappy. I feel your pain.

      MomKatt had a flu shot, too, CK, about a month and a half ago. Fat lot of good it's done her, I say! Piffle! I hope TW feels better ....

    My human is such a big baby when she is sick, I can't stand to be near her except when she is sleeping! I hope your is a lot more manageable, Selina.

Dearest Furrends: My scribe is typing this entry with a truly heavy heart. Yesterday, I made my journey to The Rainbow Bridge. My doctor, Dr. Daniel, told me in November 2023 that I had something called a "mass" that she could feel when she did something she called "palpating" my underside during my annual well-kitty exam. It didn't hurt - it just felt like she was squeezing me a little. She told Mom&DadKatt, who were there with me (of course) and suggested several options. They decided to start giving me a medicine called prednisone (I called it YUCK ). Dr. D said it would really boost my appetite. Boy, did it! See, MomKatt noticed I'd lost a fair amount of weight in a couple of months prior and she knew something was wrong. Bag Day!

Meowlo, Peeps! Today is Bag Day and Keaton is demonstrating some of the many different things he can do with an ordinary paper sack from the grocery store. He claims it's environmentally responsible, as he's upcycling a natural resource. Do you buy that? Whatever ...  Anyway, here he is.  As you might notice, he enjoys a variety of bags from different places (i.e. he has no taste and will take ANYTHING that comes along.)  This one is from Lowe's Foods grocery store.    This one is from Jersey Mike's subs. We all loved that one because it smelled soooooo good but he wormed his under it and none of us could get in.       We never got into it and in the end, it's cool because MomKatt got a hilarious photo out of it! (We have NO clue what he's doing in there.  Doesn't he have a great butt, though??)   Uh oh ... bag change! He's got the one MomKatt stole from Ed McKay's used bookstore!    At least he can't tear that one up ... ...

Report From Sick Bay

Howdy peeps, First off, THANK YOU so much for everyone's concern, thoughts, messages.  It means so much to me & MomKatt (and DadKatt).  A short update. As you read in the previous entry, Dr. Lofgren said I had a "fever of unknown origin" (and that I also weigh a nice, solid 11 lbs.).  He said, in a cat as young as I, these usually are caused by just something I've picked up.  He noted that I hadn't lost any weight, and that my gums were nice & pink, so those were good signs.   He gave me antibiotics in a shot and Sub-Q fluids yesterday and, when MomKatt picked me up, my temp was down from 104.2 to 103.  (He told her normal was 100-102.)  I ate my gooshy food once I got home and spent all night on MomKatt's lap on the sofa - I WENT to the sofa MYSELF this time, she didn't have to carry me into the living room.  *I* knew where I wanted to snuggle!
