A Very Personal Appeal w/Time Being of the Essence

OK I open this first with an apology to my Uncle Bill.  He called MomKatt at New Year's and asked that we blog about this, and things happened with Livia that sidetracked us.  We know he'll understand, but we're sorry to not have gotten onto this sooner.

Having said THAT, here is what Uncle Bill called MomKatt about (besides checking on this little uniocular feline, of course).

As I think I've said to you all before, even after I left, Uncle Bill has continued to feed & care for several of the feral kitties that hang out at the country club dumpster/golf cart house where he found me.  We SO admire him for doing this and he's really devoted to the cats.

But there is one, he says, that is a black male, a little over one year old and who he tells MomKatt STRONGLY reminds him of me - in actions, in looks, etc. (except that he has both his eyes).  He's worked with him and gotten this little black boy to coming to him when he shows up with the food and feels strongly that, with a little encouragement and patience, he can "catch" him & complete his socialization.

MomKatt suggested that HE adopt this special little boy, but Uncle Bill said that his house cat, Tiger, would not be accepting of any new cat - he's getting on in years a little and I guess he's kinda "fixed in his ways".  But if someone else were to indicate interest in my ebony relation (i.e. want to adopt him), Uncle Bill will GLADLY catch him & quarantine him in his house & work with him 'til he's 100% socialized and ready for adoption.

So he asked if MomKatt & I would blog about him and ask if anyone could help, or if anyone would be interested in adopting him.   He doesn't have a picture of this little guy yet, but feels he could get one or two, so I don't have many more specifics to tell you other than that.

But who wouldn't like to adopt a kitty related to me? MomKatt would take him but she feels right now that, with all our relations balanced with us existing cats, she "doesn't want to upset the apple cart".

Brian, we both thought of you & your hooman, since you're in the same general area as Uncle Bill (who's in Greenville, SC).  Any thoughts?  After all, you were SO instrumental in getting ME my furever home ... maybe we can pull two rabbits out of a similar hat?

MomKatt stands ready to help with this in ANY way that she can.  It's also a rather urgent situation because Uncle Bill says he truthfully doesn't know how much longer the country club is going to allow him to continue his feeding & care efforts.  Apparently he's heard "rumblings" about this and has become attached to this little black guy & really wants to see if we can save at LEAST him.

So that's the story as far as we know now.  I'd SO love a happy ending to this tale - feel free to pass this blog along and MomKatt is going to call Uncle Bill this weekend & find out if anything has happened or if the situation has progressed any.

THANK YOU!  Let's rescue my sibling/relation/cousin & find him as super a home as I have!

PURRS!
Selina

PS - My sisfur, Livia, came home last night.  The folks that make these urns (wooden boxes) lasered her actual paw print onto the lid, as they did with Sharif's box and Feisal's box.  It's very small.  The box is beautiful & MomKatt feels better now that she's home.  I thought I'd share the photo of the box with you all.

  1. I hope little black cat will find a family. Not just words..I really do hope very much that he does.

Mom was glad when she brought Admiral home as well. She talked to her all the way to the house and put her in one of her roosting places in the bedroom. I sit there with her urn many times.

  5. It is always wonderful to have the ones who have crossed home. In our case, #1's first Aby, Ikkyu, flew all the way back from Canada where he died and now sits in the bedroom. Our Sen-Chan and our Yuu-Chan both lie in the garden they loved, surrounded by flowers.

We do hope someone steps up to adopt the little black kitty. We are sadly an ocean away.

    Purrs,
    The Chans

  9. We would love to help, but we're up to eight cats now, and eight is enough (for us). I'm sorry, because Selina is a wonderful cat, and I'm sure her brofur is as well.

Also, Livia's little box is so pretty. It's a nice tribute to a special girl.

    Sending purrs and love,
    Andrea (Perla and Gabby's mommy)
