Gomez Gazette - An Update!
Meowlo, Peeps!
OK I know you've been wondering about Gomez, my cousin down in South Carolina that my Uncle Bill was going to attempt to capture & bring indoors for adoption.
Well ... MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
Earlier this week, Uncle Bill and another man who is REALLY dedicated to trapping and saving/spaying/neutering outdoor kitties, succeeded in capturing Gomez, and he's now in my Uncle Bill's home - warm, loved, safe and ... well, adjusting! Actually, he'd had a pretty traumatic time: captured, taken to the V E T, neutered, thoroughly checked out, shots, etc etc.
And once Uncle Bill feels he is ready, Mr. Gomez will be available for adoption.
The EXCELLENT medical news is that Gomez is in 100% PURRFECT health! No nasties! We were very relieved about that, to say the least.
Uncle Bill is going to get more pictures of him - and better ones, too, now that he's indoors - but, understandably, the last couple of days Gomez has just spent getting acclimated to his new situation. But when I receive them, I'll be SURE to pester MomKatt to post them ASAP. I can't wait to see him, can you? I've heard he is quite handsome.
Meanwhile, CLICK HERE to go to my original blog post about him, with the pictures that Uncle Bill got of him outdoors.
More info when I know it - but MomKatt & I are over the moon that he is safe.
In other news from The Country Club Cats, two of the three missing kittens are back, and Uncle Bill's friend is now in the process of rounding up the WHOLE colony at the country club and getting them spayed & neutered so no one will have any more kittens. According to Uncle Bill, unfortunately, these cats are SO feral they would be considered unadoptable ... but that isn't going to stop them from spaying/neutering them! And Uncle Bill is going to continue to feed & care for them at this posting.
BOTH these men deserve a big round of applause because they are doing something very positive and good for these kitties. "Cat guys" are the best, wouldn't you agree?
PURRS!
Selina (the excited)
PS - Haven't I turned into a sleek, gorgeous little lady? Mom&DadKatt say I'm BEAUTIFUL! XOXO
PPS - Not even an inquiry on Boudicca yet. *sigh* ....

YOu ARE a beautiful sleek young lady! I was going to tell you that in this comment and then I read your statement at the end. XX
ReplyDeleteI am PROUD of your Uncle Bill and everyone who is helping those feral cats. AND for adopting Gomez. That makes my day VERY bright. Please thank him from Mommy and I. xoxoxox
Katie: I need to make a correction - Uncle Bill is FOSTERING Gomez 'til we can find him a forever home! (Unless, that is, he falls in love with him like he did with me, then all bets MAY be off! MOL) But for the time being, Gomez is available for adoption. XOXO
DeleteApplause Applause !
ReplyDeleteGREAT work they are doing with the cat´s <3
Uncle Bill and his friend are AMAZING humans! I wish all stray and feral kitties had humans looking out for them like these two!
ReplyDeleteI am trying to figure out a way to get the word out about Boudicca that will reach farther than just our usual blogging and Tweeting pals. My human shared on Facebook and tagged a friend who lives in Chapel Hill (the friend is not very active on FB, so she may not see it for a while, plus she is a dog person - but anything helps, right?). It is really hard to rehome adult cats sometimes! Especially when they would probably do best as an only kitty.
Sparkle, thank you! We keep thinking that, with all the kitties that have seemed to be going to The Bridge lately, there is someone out there who's lost their only cat and feels ready to open their hearts once more .... Boudicca is SO sweet and she'd be both a comfort & a source of much entertainment & laughter. She's really quite a funny kitty.
DeleteYEAH!!! We are glad Gomez is safe and cootie free!!! We hope they catch those feral kitties soon and are so glad they are committed to keeping the colony safe. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful and inspiring work they are doing to help our furry friends.
ReplyDeleteXOXO,
Katie & Glogirly
That is terrific news sweet Selina!!!

ReplyDeleteYes, Selina, you are a lovely lady!
Yayyy for Uncle Bill and his friend. That is great news that Gomez is healthy and that they are helping the feral kitties.

We shared about Boudicca on FB too and one friend in NC is gonna ax around. Even if Gomez' furrends are too feral to be adopted TNR is the best thing. Then the colony won't grow any larger. We have some in our parking garage that are being fed and taken care of. At every meeting, someone cries that they leave footprints on their car, but pffftttt to them.
ReplyDeleteThank you for doing that, CK! XOXO
DeletePawprints on their cars ... I agree: PFFTTTT! Double that! Then should learn to think of the prints as art!
PURRS!
Selina
We are so happy to hear Gomez is safe inside now.
