Good mews!
Morning, peeps!
Do you all remember my cousin, Gomez? The black male kitty that my Uncle Bill was feeding at the dumpster where I used to live? If you do, you'll remember that he brought him to the vet to get neutered after managing to socialize him and get him to come to him, eat from his hand, etc., like he did with me when I was a "country club dumpster kitty".
Well the good news is ... Gomez has been adopted!
MomKatt spoke with Uncle Bill last night, and a nice man about 10-12 miles from my Uncle Bill adopted him. Uncle Bill's going to visit him in the next day or so in his new home, to check on him & see how Gomez is getting along. His new DadKatt told Uncle Bill he was going to harness-train Gomez so he could take him for a walk in the front yard, so he could get used to the new smells, etc. of his new furever home.
Isn't that great news? I was very happy for him, though MomKatt was a little sorry that we weren't going to be his new family. But apparently Uncle Bill's resident kitty, Tiger, who is about 13 years old, was NOT happy about Gomez being in "his" house, so he felt he couldn't wait on my cousin to possibly adopt Boudicca. (The pawrents' agreement was: one cat doesn't come in until the other one moves.)
But that's OK: the main thing is that Gomez has a safe, loving furever home and that's just grand, isn't it?
In less good news, MomKatt is getting furloughed from her job 'cause of this "sequester" thing our Gubment is currently going through. She got the news this morning that they will be furloughed one day per pay period in their office (biweekly). Don't these politicians realize that kitties' food budgets are affected by this nonsense? Don't they understand the hardship placed upon pet pawrents when they refuse to come to grips with fiscal realities and do their jobs?
Apparently not. Oh well, MomKatt says she knows what to do with her day off (the first one is scheduled to take place March 22nd). And hey - she's not REALLY complaining too much about being home an extra day with us kits! (But it *is* the principle of the thing dontchaknow?)
We'll just have to ride it out & hope those ,dumb, stupid politicians men and women up in DC come to some sensible solutions ASAP.
Honestly! Makes a one-eyed cat want to get into politics and go apply some of her Patented Smacky Paws to a few heads! THEN perhaps they'd learn the meaning of "responsibility" .... *sigh*
PURRZ!

Yay for Gomez getting a forever home!
ReplyDeleteOh boy, don't get us started on the gubment.. Why don't THEY take the day off with no pay?! Actually, that probably wouldnt bother any of them.. Work a day with no pay! That'll teach them! No pay until they have a budget that is close to paying out what they take in? Saved salery monies could go to pay down the big debt? Bwhahaha! As if, right!
MomKatt says let's start with the bloated defense budget and go from there ... how long now has the US been fighting a "war" we should not have gotten into in the first place, and which we should now be OUT of? How much $$ is being swallowed by that alone?
DeleteAngry purrs,
Selina
Although we are in the UK our government is just the same - they want more money in taxes from us but we who don't get any more money from our pensions or employers. When they take pay cuts Mum says she'll faint from shock!!
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
It's part of the reason MomKatt hardly watches the news anymore. It just makes her so angry her blood pressure soars! And what good does THAT do? :(
DeleteThat is so wonderful for handsome little Gomez! Hey, that's why we should spay and neuter all politicians...they shouldn't be reproducing in the wild.
ReplyDeleteMOL! You are so right Brian!
DeleteThat is great news for Gomez!
ReplyDeleteWe need a like button for Brian's comment.
Good idea! Blogger SHOULD institute "Like" buttons! And "Dislike" ones too! MOL!
DeleteYippee for Gomez! We hope we hear updates on how he's doing, especially with that walking harness. Yep, you should get into politics. So much smacky paws needed there! Purrs...
ReplyDeleteYes - on BOTH sides of the aisle!!!!
DeleteThat is good news! It's our first visit here. We have one blind cat and one one-eyed cat. Are you near the Blind Cat Rescue?
ReplyDeleteHi, welcome & thanks for reading my blog! I am about 3 hrs away from Blind Cat Rescue. We love them!

That is GREAT news about Gomez getting adopted! Um, not so great news about your human being furloughed.
ReplyDeleteHooray for Gomez. Boo for your Mom's job and the politicians. At least she still has a job. Pop was laid off and TW still can't find a job. Whenever one side (blue) compromises, the other side (red) demands more. Both sides should compromise or my smacky paws will have claws extended. TW is so mad she hasn't watched the news in years. BTW, when TW saw MomKatt's name on the comment for my contest, she swears she knew someone with that name a long time ago.
ReplyDeleteWAY happee selina; gomez haz finded his forever home...best fishes two him....
ReplyDeletesorree ta her yur momz job getted fur lowed....we hope her gets her day bak; thatz all ways ruff on de budgetz.....
:(
They'll be sorry... When (NOT if) we cats take over the world (and it will be soon... very soon), there will be smacky paws and tails of reality flying this way and that. Then, FINALLY, stuff that needs doin' will get done! purrs
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful news that Gomez has a new forever home! We know you wanted it to be with you, but it's great to know he never has to live out of the dumpster again.
ReplyDeleteHow frustrating about the furlough. It's hard on the budget to have to take a cut like that. We're glad it's one day every two weeks and not more, at least, and that she sounds like she has a pretty good outlook about it.
WOOT!! Great news for Gomez!!!
ReplyDeleteWe wish him a long and happy life :)
BOO for your Mom losing a day of work :(
We like all the comments . Those polly-tishons
better beware of angry kitties and do their jobs and
find solutions quickly...or else!

ReplyDeleteGreat news about Gomez! We hope he will be very happy in his new home.
ReplyDeleteToo bad about this furlough thingy. Paws crossed it won't last long.
