A Helping Paw

Hi all,

Our Aby furriend, Jacoby, posted last night about an Aby in need in Greensboro, NC, near where we live!  This Aby, whose name was Louis, needed a new home because his owner had to move in with family and poor Louis was having to deal with a bad (for an Aby) situation (see link above for more details on that).

MomKatt saw the post in her Email this morning when she got to work and immediately responded!  Even if we couldn't adopt Louis (and trust me:  MomKatt would've worked DadKatt over with a 2X4 to make *that* happen!  MOL), her thought as she dialed the phone was that we could at least foster him in her upstairs office, where there were no dogs like the one he was having to contend with where he was, and where it would be quiet.

So she spoke with Louis' owner and it turned out that Louis was back with his breeder and, as of last night, sleeping with the breeder's daughter!  So all is, apparently, well that ends well (though MomKatt *was* kinda hoping she'd get the opportunity to add another ruddy Aby boy to our clowder, she *does* miss Feisal so much).

But that's secondary - she & I are just glad that Louis is safe & loved.  Once again, it just goes to remind us how wonderpurr all you folks are when a cat is in need:  you JUMP on it and, if you can't help the cat purr-sonally, you spread the word!  (Louis' former owner was amazed at how quickly her situation was put out into the Internet cat community!)  And, in another example - as if we needed one - of the immense value of social networking where pets are concerned, Louis' original mom found his breeder - ON FACEBOOK!  So there you go!

I just *know* MomKatt will, one day, have another ruddy boy and I'll have a ruddy Aby brofur that isn't sick, like Feisal was when I came to live with Mom&DadKatt.  So maybe he'll want to play with me and we'll bond.  Meanwhile, our hearts are warmed going into the weekend, knowing that Louis is safe and knowing there is a "net" out there - it doesn't catch everyone, all the time - but, more often than not, it DOES.  And another precious life is saved, or improved, thanks to the overwhelming generosity of folks like you.

You guys just rock.

So here's a few pictures of Feisal for you all to enjoy, and MomKatt & I both hope everyone has a lovely weekend.  Hoomans, snuggle your kits extra hard this weekend, OK?

PURRZ!
Selina
