CATS RAY CHARLES & SISTER RACHAEL - PLEASE READ & HELP IF YOU CAN!

Meowlo, Peeps.

I'm passing along a sad story from our furriend Brian, from Brian's Home, about two black kitties named Ray Charles & his sisfur, Rachael.  Here are their pics:

Aren't they just adorable?

Here is the link to Brian's post about them:

Black, Blind & In a Bind

These two sweeties desperately need shelter.  Right now, they are at a vet's office recovering from surgery for a condition called Entropion, which basically involves eyelids that roll inward and rub against the cornea of the eye.  It's VERY painful.  The kitties are in Greenville, SC, where I came from - so MomKatt & I feel a SPECIAL affinity for them.

Ray Charles is blind but Rachel is not.  Basically they were both part of a large cat colony caught in a rather unfriendly trailer park.  The residents don't like cats & are/were going out of their way to harm/eliminate some of the poor creatures by hitting them with cars.

The really HEARTBREAKING paragraph came here:

"They are very quiet, somehow enormously sad for kitties that are so young, around 6 months old.  They have just been sleeping all day long and do not play.  I don’t think they know how.  They love to be held and just look up at you when you hold them."

NO kitty should not know how to play or be so sad.  And for sure these two CANNOT return to that awful trailer park.  Therefore, it is time-critical that they find someone to help them, as the vet can't keep them indefinitely.  Brian asked that I pass this along and, of course, MomKatt & I said, "YES!"

MomKatt's even offered, if push came to shove, to foster them if no one there close by steps up to the plate.

As of yesterday, Brian's Dad Emailed MomKatt & told her there might be a foster available and she's got an Email in to him this morning, inquiring about an update.  We hope someone will take these babies but, in the meantime, if you all could share this on your FB pages or blogs or whatever, I know Brian would appreciate it, Ray Charles & Rachael will appreciate it and so will MomKatt & I.

Will keep you all updated on what happens.  Thank you all so much.

Love & purrs
Selina & MomKatt Laura

UPDATE:  No foster as yet.  Brian's Dad said there were "Several offers, but you know how it goes, they don't always work out during the vetting process."  We SO want to help these two babies!!

  3. Heartbreaking! You know I don't think we want those people in the trailerpark around the same way that they did not want the cats around. Does these mean that we can play bumper cars with the residents?
