Rachel

She's such a princess (yes, just ask her!) I decided I'd feature Rachel today on her own.  (Ray's napping so he can't be bothered right now.  It's raining here today and he says anyone with any sense - like him! - would be home napping right now, too!)

Rachel is SO adorable; she'll stand on her hind feet to reach for things, like this teaser ... or the bottom of my shorts (mostly my left leg) ... or the drawstring on my PJ bottoms ... LOL   When she does, she looks like a little meerkat!  

And both Rachel and Ray reach up with both paws, like she's doing here, to "catch" things like the now-defunct teaser that's just a stick now ("Who wants to play with streamers?  I got a plain STICK already!") or these ribbons from their Laurel Burch teaser (PetSmart!)  They look like they're applauding!  ("Thank you, thank you, yes, I'm their foster mom, taught 'em everything they know!")

So.  This is your Thursday dose of kitten cuteness, courtesy of Rachel Carter.  Enjoy!

PS - She is sitting on my cats' leopard print Krinkle Sak, which they NEVER used.  So Ray and Rachel inherited it.  You should see her when she lies on it on her side, just resting or taking a bath.  Yeah, she's workin' it, alright!

PPS - On an unrelated note, Selina & I are sending massive purrs to Terry and Brian, and we hope Mr. B's feeling better today.  We love you!!!!

    We have been wondering about Rachel and Ray. The neglectful humans went away for ten days, and we got way behind on our reading and commenting so we were super glad to see this post. She looks so cute in this photo, and we are glad that both she and Ray are doing well. We wish they could find a forever home; though, it sounds as if someone might be getting very attached to them. Dearest Furrends: My scribe is typing this entry with a truly heavy heart. Yesterday, I made my journey to The Rainbow Bridge. My doctor, Dr. Daniel, told me in November 2023 that I had something called a "mass" that she could feel when she did something she called "palpating" my underside during my annual well-kitty exam. It didn't hurt - it just felt like she was squeezing me a little. She told Mom&DadKatt, who were there with me (of course) and suggested several options. They decided to start giving me a medicine called prednisone (I called it YUCK ). Dr. D said it would really boost my appetite. Boy, did it! See, MomKatt noticed I'd lost a fair amount of weight in a couple of months prior and she knew something was wrong. Bag Day!

Meowlo, Peeps! Today is Bag Day and Keaton is demonstrating some of the many different things he can do with an ordinary paper sack from the grocery store. He claims it's environmentally responsible, as he's upcycling a natural resource. Do you buy that? Whatever ...  Anyway, here he is.  As you might notice, he enjoys a variety of bags from different places (i.e. he has no taste and will take ANYTHING that comes along.)  This one is from Lowe's Foods grocery store.    This one is from Jersey Mike's subs. We all loved that one because it smelled soooooo good but he wormed his under it and none of us could get in.       We never got into it and in the end, it's cool because MomKatt got a hilarious photo out of it! (We have NO clue what he's doing in there.  Doesn't he have a great butt, though??)   Uh oh ... bag change! He's got the one MomKatt stole from Ed McKay's used bookstore!    At least he can't tear that one up ... ...

Report From Sick Bay

Howdy peeps, First off, THANK YOU so much for everyone's concern, thoughts, messages.  It means so much to me & MomKatt (and DadKatt).  A short update. As you read in the previous entry, Dr. Lofgren said I had a "fever of unknown origin" (and that I also weigh a nice, solid 11 lbs.).  He said, in a cat as young as I, these usually are caused by just something I've picked up.  He noted that I hadn't lost any weight, and that my gums were nice & pink, so those were good signs.   He gave me antibiotics in a shot and Sub-Q fluids yesterday and, when MomKatt picked me up, my temp was down from 104.2 to 103.  (He told her normal was 100-102.)  I ate my gooshy food once I got home and spent all night on MomKatt's lap on the sofa - I WENT to the sofa MYSELF this time, she didn't have to carry me into the living room.  *I* knew where I wanted to snuggle!
