Meezer Colors Monday

Meowlo, peeps!

I'm glad it's Meezer Colors Monday, because I'm going to feature my sisfur, Sasha, who gets hardly ANY press at all and who really deserves some.

Here she is, a blue Siamese mix.

She's DadKatt's first girl kitty since he & MomKatt were married.  She turned 10 years young this year and they got her when she was a kitten in 2004.

This is how she appeared when MomKatt went to the shelter to evaluate her for intake into Siamese Rescue:

She had untreated herpes in her left eye, and this left it clouded.  But the lady that brought her in (polite term for "dumped her") told the shelter staff that she "had spent too much money on this kitten and it wouldn't get well, so she wanted them to put her to sleep and she was going to stand there and watch them do it!"

Well, when the shelter staff got the woman out of the building before some furious human throttled her for being a basically scum-sucking example of humanity, they called MomKatt and asked if she could evaluate her.  It was determined that another lady that worked with the shelter would foster her (MomKatt took pictures and Sasha was accepted into SR, but she couldn't go to a foster home 'til her eye was treated and cleared up).  So the lady and MomKatt drove her to our house, then the lady took her home from there.

DadKatt came out to the driveway while they were there to meet this little kitten, who was very well-behaved the entire trip, despite how she'd been abandoned so cruelly.  When the lady left with the kitten, Mom&DadKatt drove to Greensboro (it was a Saturday) to run their usual errands and, on the way down the road, DadKatt said ... "Well ... could WE adopt her?"

At the time, we only had Sharif and Livia, and DadKatt didn't have a cat that was "his", technically.  MomKatt said, "Of course, if you want to!"

"I do!" DadKatt said.  "I think she's going to grow up to be a real beauty.  I love her colors!"

Well, MomKatt knew they would change as she aged and she said yes!  So, once the kitten (who DadKatt named "Sasha" after his childhood cat, a Russian Blue) was deemed non-contagious, they picked her up from the nice lady that cared for her, and brought her home.   She's been with us ever since.

See how happy she is in her new home with her new DadKatt?  :)

She's now darkened in her points and is an exquisite-looking lady katt.

Her eyes are china blue, even if the left one is clouded over a bit.  She's on L-Lysine to control her herpes and she is a sweet, gentle kitty who has an "Elizabethan ruff" of fur all around her neck that is white!  DadKatt can sure spot an attractive female, MomKatt says.  He called it right when he said she was going to grow up to be spectacular!

Just look at what that evil person missed out on.  Her loss, our family's gain!

Sasha loves to stay in the pawrents' bedroom.  She loves to nap on the bed on MomKatt's side all day, she loves to play (pipecleaners!) and she REALLY LOVES drinking from the bathroom sink faucet.  She "squeaks" when she miaows very endearingly and puts up with Peppers picking on her (we still don't know why he pesters her especially) with more patience than I would!  I keep telling her she needs to go upside his head one time!  That'll learn him!

This is MomKatt's favorite picture of her when she was a kitten:  she was in "the right place at the right time" with her camera when this was taken!

I hope you've enjoyed meeting my sweet Meezer sisfur.

Purrz y'all!
Selina
