Rachel Update
Meowlo Peeps!
Rachel is a bit quiet this morning & didn't want her gooshy food or her L-Lysine treats. When THAT cat is quiet ... well, you know something is up. She got a feline leukemia shot yesterday that I don't normally get my guys because they are indoor only, so MomKatt's thinking that she's feeling a little punky from both that shot and the 3-year distemper shot she was due to receive.
As for the coughing, Dr. L said he could not find a THING wrong with her (and praised how beautiful her coat was, said "She's the prettiest black cat I've seen in awhile!" and MomKatt replied, "Well, don't let Selina or Morticia hear you say that!"). The only thing he found was a tiny (and I mean TINY, like smaller even than the tip of your pinkie finger) little spot in her mouth on her right side in the back, right where her upper teeth end. He confessed he didn't know what it was, and said he didn't want to start her on an antibiotic or steroid when he could see no justifiable reason for doing so. MomKatt agreed with that, and they agreed that she would continue to monitor her behavior and whether the coughing got any worse, or whatever. She's to touch base with him later today on the phone to update him.
Last night she seemed fine, acted like her normal self and ate her dinner just fine. MomKatt hopes that, when she gets home from work, The Princess will have rested up today and will be more like her usual self.
Thanks for the purrs and good thoughts, ya'll, and please keep them coming.
Purrz & remember, only one more day 'til Furrrriday!

Thanks for the update, Selina. You're such a wonderful big sister :) We hope Rachel is back to 100% fast!

ReplyDeleteWe hope Rachel feels better soon. Shots make us grumpy, too, so we don't blame her.
ReplyDeleteWe'll keep purring for Rachel! Those shots make us lay around for a day or two, also.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Ok, I'm going to ask. if she doesn't go outside, and you don't normally give it, why did you allow them to give it to her? It is only necessary if there is a chance she will come in direct contact with a cat of unknown vaccine history. For indoor only cats it is a completely unnecessary vaccine.
