A Special Day

Hello.  I'm in a box.  Don't I look thrilled?

Meowlo, Peeps!

Once again, the Typist has been neglecting my blog but I must say she's got a pretty good excuse ... well several really.

First of all the REALLY important thing is that today is both my birthday AND my Gotcha Day!!  And it's DadKatt's 57th birthday (he won't know I revealed his age here 'cause I won't tell him)!  Despite her writing slackness, I love my MomKatt - can't believe I'm five!  2011 was my magic year - that's when I came to stay here!  Four years have flown and I've been happy and massively loved ever since I arrived.

Now ... the OTHER news.  Here she is *rolls eyes*.  Yes, ANOTHER one.  Actually, she's not bad.  Her name is Nutmeg.

This is her "pitiful" look.  I think she's patented it.

I think the innate tortitude-ness shows right through here, don't you?

She's pretty alert and LOVES pipecleaners!

She came to live with us this past January, another "foster fail" on MomKatt's part (she suckered DadKatt, too, so it wasnt just mom's fault).  She is 7 months old and she's taken over the house.   TORTITUDE IS NOT A MYTH.  I'm here to tell ya'll.  Between her, me, Ray and Rachel, we've formed a gang:  MomKatt calls us The Four Musketeers!  We stage a lot of night races up and down the stairs (though the other three get a little more of that done than I do.  Sometimes a girl just has to nap, y'know?)  She ate a Tostito the other night.  The pawrents were amazed.

Her hobbies are killing pipe cleaners, stealing breakfasts, looking cute and adorable and letting MomKatt hold her in her arms like a baby.  She is also a PIG, scarfing down her gooshy goodness then immediately eating everyone else's!  (I get mine in the kitchen windowsill so she doesn't bother me or Morticia - who is over EVERYTHING these days.  What a grouch!)

Rachel's taught Nutmeg all kinds of bad habits (which I taught HER when SHE came here) like getting into the cabinet where the gooshy goodness is.

For those that don't know or are not friends with MomKatt on FB (and WHY aren't you??), Nutmeg was a local rescue.  MomKatt pulled her from a PetSense store where she was the only kitten in the adoption center and she was SO lonely and pitiful, reaching out literally from her cage to MomKatt when she walked by.  She had no kibble (just crumbs - this was at night mind you), her water was VERY low and had pieces of clumping litter in it and ... well you do NOT want to know what the litterbox looked like.

MomKatt got M A D and pulled her the next night.  When her cousin said she'd adopt her, MomKatt agreed to deliver her once her spay was done on Feb. 2.  But MomKatt went through a bad bout with depression during Jan., and caring for Nutmeg REALLY helped her.  Her cousin knew they'd bonded and said it was OK for MomKatt to take her, that she understood.  Of course, DadKatt was saying, "No more cats!"

Sure, DadKatt.  Right.  You keep on thinking that.

She knows how to work it, doesn't she?

(News flash:  DadKatt is a big sucker.)

Her other excuse for neglect is ... they put our house on the market on her birthday, Feb. 9!  (She also turned 50 this year, so she's been grappling with the implications of THAT.)  So I guess once they get someone on the hook to buy it, we're off to the Pacific Northwest!  The pawrents wish someone would hurry up.  This place must be amazing - they're dying to get out there!  So if anyone wants to buy a house in Reidsville NC ... we got a nice one for you!

As you can see, it's been interesting around here lately.  MomKatt's been meaning to introduce the Little Imp but hadn't gotten around to it 'til now.

Hope all of you are doing well and we'll be back as soon as we can.  I'm going to celebrate tonight with 'nip - wonder if the Little Imp will like it?  Well she CAN'T have MINE!

Purrz!
Selina
