The Day Nears ...

Meowlo Peeps!

Our Secret Paws package came this weekend!  MomKatt has said we can't open the presents 'til Xmas Eve (they will be visiting our paternal g'mother on Xmas Day, so they open their presents to each other and us the night before.)

WE CAN'T WAIT 'TIL WE CAN SEE IT ALL!
 






Meanwhile, I had a little bit of a bad day yesterday - something spooked me Sat. night and no one could find me Sunday morning.  MomKatt knew something was wrong when I wasn't at the bedroom door waiting with the others for the pawrents to awaken and come out.  DadKatt finally found me - I was hiding in the stacks of big moving boxes upstairs - I felt very safe and concealed there.  MomKatt talked me out of there and petted and re-assured me.  Soon I was running around like normal and had a relaxing nap.

Sometimes this happens to me.  I won't tell them why (they suspect I'm being surprised somehow after they go to bed by one of the Three Musketeers but I'm not ratting anyone out.)  It upsets MomKatt because she doesn't like seeing me scared and spooked and not wanting to come out.  

So I got LOTS of lap time yesterday - I DEMANDED it!  It felt so good to be rubbed and loved on.

Xmas draws closer ... can't wait to hear what you kittehs all get from YOUR loved ones!

    Sweet Selina, we really don't like to think of you being scared and we're glad you're OK now.

    That box looks very exciting!! Miss Selena, next time you get spooked, give me a loud meow and I will run through the tunnel and comfort you!! It is getting very close to THAT day now, but I've already opened a couple of my presents!!! ;) xxxx

Dearest Furrends: My scribe is typing this entry with a truly heavy heart. Yesterday, I made my journey to The Rainbow Bridge. My doctor, Dr. Daniel, told me in November 2023 that I had something called a "mass" that she could feel when she did something she called "palpating" my underside during my annual well-kitty exam. It didn't hurt - it just felt like she was squeezing me a little. She told Mom&DadKatt, who were there with me (of course) and suggested several options. They decided to start giving me a medicine called prednisone (I called it YUCK ). Dr. D said it would really boost my appetite. Boy, did it! See, MomKatt noticed I'd lost a fair amount of weight in a couple of months prior and she knew something was wrong. Bag Day!

Meowlo, Peeps! Today is Bag Day and Keaton is demonstrating some of the many different things he can do with an ordinary paper sack from the grocery store. He claims it's environmentally responsible, as he's upcycling a natural resource. Do you buy that? Whatever ...  Anyway, here he is.  As you might notice, he enjoys a variety of bags from different places (i.e. he has no taste and will take ANYTHING that comes along.)  This one is from Lowe's Foods grocery store.    This one is from Jersey Mike's subs. We all loved that one because it smelled soooooo good but he wormed his under it and none of us could get in.       We never got into it and in the end, it's cool because MomKatt got a hilarious photo out of it! (We have NO clue what he's doing in there.  Doesn't he have a great butt, though??)   Uh oh ... bag change! He's got the one MomKatt stole from Ed McKay's used bookstore!    At least he can't tear that one up ... ...

Report From Sick Bay

Howdy peeps, First off, THANK YOU so much for everyone's concern, thoughts, messages.  It means so much to me & MomKatt (and DadKatt).  A short update. As you read in the previous entry, Dr. Lofgren said I had a "fever of unknown origin" (and that I also weigh a nice, solid 11 lbs.).  He said, in a cat as young as I, these usually are caused by just something I've picked up.  He noted that I hadn't lost any weight, and that my gums were nice & pink, so those were good signs.   He gave me antibiotics in a shot and Sub-Q fluids yesterday and, when MomKatt picked me up, my temp was down from 104.2 to 103.  (He told her normal was 100-102.)  I ate my gooshy food once I got home and spent all night on MomKatt's lap on the sofa - I WENT to the sofa MYSELF this time, she didn't have to carry me into the living room.  *I* knew where I wanted to snuggle!
