One Eye on the Future

Meowlo, peeps! Wow.  Another award, this time from the too-kind kitties at Cherry Cit y !  Thanks, guys! I am now to answer 11 questions that the C herry City Kitties posed for me, as follows. ****** What is your favorite treat? MOL!  Believe it or not - my feline Forti-Flora!  Yes, I ge t it added to my gooshy fud once a day and I love it so much, before M omKatt puts the wet food in the bowl, I've already lapped up the nummy powder supplement!   Mom Katt think s it's really funny that I love th e taste so much, but it helps keep my innards "regular" and in good shape, ba cteria-wise ... i sn't it great when a med that's good FOR you is also good TO you?   Your favorite toy? My leop ard print teaser - and any teaser of Morticia's.   Favorite place to sleep? Not many know thi s, but my s isfur, Morticia, is a "professional centerpiece".  (That's 'ca use she likes to sit on or near the center of our dining room table.  S he's SO good a t doing this she's "gone pro".) Now, however, she's taken her professional sta tus into the realm of Great Art - specifically, photographic art - as the following pi cs will demonstrate. You'll note that, in th ese pictures, Morticia is most clearly NOT in the "center" of the table.  She's taken this rebellious position to demonstrate her rejection of symmetr y and type -casting, abandoning the label "professional centerpiece", represented by th e bars of sunlight on her fur - i.e., he r metaphorical "prison" marks, a "burden" placed upon her by society (i.e. Mom&DadKatt) - in favor of the freedom of expres si on she feels is naturally a part of her feline nature .  ( In other words, she's saying, "I ca...

Mornin' Pe eps! This is my brofur, Peppers: His 6th birthday is today, so I thought today's blog should celebrate him.  Happy Birthday, Peppers! Here he is, in our dining room in his big cat bed, enjoying a leisurely bathing session. This is him when MomKatt first met him, at the local PetSmart. ( T hat's her arm in the first piccy, there .)   As you can see, he's a big guy (22 lbs) and the shelter folks had him in their largest cage!  He wasn't too thrilled about it, MomKatt tells me. But she instantly felt sorry for him and attracted to his unde niable handsome manliness .   It was obvious to her that he was very unhappy in the cage, and that he did not understand why he was there.  When she petted him at first, he'd bite her a little, and exhibit some "restlessness" that threw up warning bells in her head.  She told DadKatt that she felt, if he was in that cage much longer, he'd go on biting and becoming more frustrated ...

Morning peep s! You know something?  I'm one lucky kitty.   I mean, just LOOK at this picture.  I'm shiny & healthy & my furs look GORGEOUS.  My uniocular viewer is clear and pretty and always wide open, looking for anything I can find (and any mayhem I can raise!)  I have a fiefdom kin gdo m over which I pr eside (and here I am over the weekend, surveying the pawren ts' bedroom portion and finding it acceptable).   I even have ART!  (See those kitties behind me ? Yes, I'm one cultured feline. ) On top of that, I have the best Mom&DadKatt on earth.  T hey love me t o pieces , and MomKatt is my hooman chew-toy an d dispenser of laptime, lovins, nib bles, and, yes, I suppose I can coun t visits to the "V E T" as a positive 'cause that means she wants to keep me healthy and happy, so she dispenses that, too ... not to mention lots of play time.  And did I mention I can chew on her? This is my cousin, And ria, whom I just met this weekend.  She was coming to meet Boudicca but, afte r meeting me ... well, what can I say?  Just look at how she's looking at me - she thinks I'm wonderpurr!  And you know what ?  She's right! (PS - S he's thinking about Boudicca.) My adoring public ... Another fan entranced! PURRZ Y'ALL! Selina PS - MomKatt isn't letting her have me to take home, however.  MOL!
