One Eye on the Future

I think it's quite proper to honor (at least one of 'em, anyway) a President that was not only THE best President EVER, but also ... a cat guy!  Mr. Lincoln rocks! So Peppers and I are here to wish you all a super Presidents Day ... I'm in the midst of my 4-day weekend with MomKatt!  She's been cleaning/rearranging all the books & bookshelves in her office today and I've been right in the midst of it all, "helping".  Heh.  Heh. PS - Isn't this THE most awesomest sunpuddle?  Of course, *he* takes up most of it.  *sigh* Oh well, PURRS! Selina

It was actually a fun Friday morning for me, AND a fun Thursday night!  As you can see, this is me (taken this morning) playing with the pitiful teaser (a MUCH better one is upstairs - I'm getting MomKatt to get DadKatt to take more pics of me later this weekend playing with IT.)    But anyway, I digress. I was playing with the pitiful (just HOW pitiful it is can readily been seen!) teaser this morning AND, last night, DadKatt came home late (he was out shopping for HDTVs ...) so MomKatt & I played with the really nice purple-and-black-feathered teaser upstairs in her office!  I was all OVER it!  Purring and pouncing and stalking and charging!  Just like my "normal" self (when She Who Must Not Be Named isn't around).  MomKatt took the little bell off of the upstairs teaser and now SWMNBN doesn't know when I'm playing with it and, consequently, can't come upstairs to sit outside the office door and plague me with her presence!  I can enj...

Of course, it's VERY easy to see what's wrong with this picture.  I'm looking at it. Yup.   Empty food bowls. MomKatt goes through this elaborate ritual before dishing our gooshy food out to us in the evenings.  First, as you see here, she lays out the silver-bottomed bowls in a two-up/two-down pattern.  (WHY she does this, I don't know.  I think she has a thing for symmetry.)  Then (and you can't see this 'cause I'm sitting in front of the area where she puts them) she lays out three ceramic bowls:   one red (for Sasha, because she gets medicine in her gooshies), one baby blue and one pink, both of which say "MEOW" at the bottom.  Then, she puts L-Lysine gel and some fish oil in Sasha's bowl and arranges these three "just so" to one side.  They are for Sasha, Peppers and Sharif. The four silver-bottomed ones are for me, Morticia, Livia & my nemesis, Boudicca.  I CAN say that ours get filled first, with Morticia ...

Morticia (left) and I (right) (in first picture) want to wish ALL our blogging buddies a very Happy Valentine's Day!  I hope you all get extra treats and love today and remember to love on your hooman so he/she remembers to take the BEST care of you because we cats DESERVE love!  And when we give love ourselves, it is an honor and a gift beyond price.  Those wise enough, like our hoomans, know that & treasure us!  

I'd like to introduce you to a very special purr-son in my life.  Without further ado ... me and MomKatt! No, I'm not attempting to get away!  MOL  That's just how I usually end up when I'm held.  I don't like being held for TOO long; I don't mind it, but more than a couple of minutes and I get all wiggly!  MOL  DadKatt was trying to get the best shot possible & he didn't tell MomKatt when to smile in the first two so this was the third pic! Anyway, I love her very much & she guards me from Boudicca!  (Plus does lots of other things.) So I'm declaring today NATIONAL MOMKATT DAY!  Kitties everywhere, go nuzzle your MomKatts & let 'em know you love 'em! PURRS! Selina PS - MomKatt update:  A query she sent last month to History magazine concerning an article proposal got accepted today!  It's her first major magazine acceptance since she stopped writing for Teddy Bear & Friends magazine in 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Yesterday, MomKatt took advantage of the gift I gave her of a rare full-on frontal shot of me.  (And the title of my blog entry today was TRULY partially written by me - bet you can't guess which part was MY contribution?  MOL) I wonder if my Uncle Bill would think that I look very different from when I left his house to come to Mom*DadKatt almost a year ago.  It'll be April soon! Don't I look demure & ladylike?  ;-) I hope you all are having  a great Saturday.  PURRS! Selina
