New Pics of Me & Kitten Update

Image
Mornin' Peeps & Happy F riday! It's not a Fur- Lo w Furriday today but NEXT Friday is for MomKatt - and that means a FOUR DAY WEEKEND 'cause of the July 4th holiday!  As you can see, I'm getting all excited & prepared by camping out with my two favorite things:  M omKatt's shoes and my leopard teaser! I felt generous this morning and decided to forgive MomKatt forgetting my Blog-O-Versary.  So, when she whipped out the iPhone, I *did* cooperate and look up at her like she asked me to do!  :)  And here are the results of my cooperation.  Aren't I gorgeous?  MomKatt says I am one sleek, shiny House Panther. Think those kittens will turn out as gorgeous as I have?   Guess we'll just have to see! News on them, they are still at our house.  Ray didn't eat his gooshy fud this morning but MomKatt's hoping that is just 'cause he OD'ed on crunchy food maybe before she got up there to fee d them.  Rachel, meanwhile,

Monday Progress

Image
Mornin' peeps! Well, ov er the weekend MomKatt experienced some major progress with Kitten Ray ... and I managed to get lap time during the Tigers' game (and the subsequent Mariners' game they watched after THAT) yesterday afternoon.  (Both teams won, so Mom&DadKatt were very happy about that ; plus she watched MARIANO close on Sat. afternoon f or the Yanks so she was baseball'ed out ... but happy.) ANYWAY ... this is NOT a post about baseball.   The R EALLY BIG NEWS i s about Ray.  I will let the pictures below tell the story in Ray's thoughts. "Oh no .. . th ere's that HAND again!  I t keeps tryin g to get near to me ... wait a second, what' s that thing?  I t's h olding something that ... lo oks like a litt le chicken leg!  What IS that?  Should I investigate it?"   "Hummm ... I don't know.  I think it looks kinda suspect.  It IS in Giant L ady's hand ... su re smells good thought.  OK ... I'l l move a lit

Kitten Update

Rachel continues to be a love bug.  Ray continues to retreat from "the hand".  I *did* manage to hold him yesterday (Friday) ... for 5 seconds.  But that was 5 seconds more than I'd had up to that point; so I'm going to keep trying today.   I think it's time for a little bribery, i.e. cooked chicken, this afternoon after lunch. Morticia met them yesterday morning.  She appeared ... unimpressed.  Ate a bit of their kibble and left.  And she touched noses with Rachel.  With Ray, SOMEONE hissed, but I couldn't tell who it was ... my guess would be Ray but they just stared at each other, albeit at fairly close range, and Morticia isn't normally a hisser.  So my bet is with Mr. Ray. MomKatt Laura This is Ray sitting on the back of my chair, working on his tan.

Office Kittens

Image
Mornin' Peeps! It becam e clear to MomKatt this morning that Ray is an "executive type".  See what you think. He's got his laptop, a printer/sc anner, a 2-drawer fil ing cabinet, his P anasonic phone, a sleekly modern desk lamp , a cat-shaped paperweight, a c alendar, a pin-up board for schedules and shopping lists for cat fud, a stuffed Tigger for "executive stress relief" and ... PAPERWORK !    I think he' s read y to "do business", don't you?  (As opposed to "doing his business" !  MOL) Most importantly, like the rest of us kits in the Carter Clowder, he 's got STAFF! Meanwhile, Sister Rachel feels she's already put her time in today and wants to get the heck outta Dodge for a long weekend! (This "executive escape attempt" really did occur this morning!  Little bugger's ready herself to head on downstairs & take over the house!  I, Selina, was sitting outside the closed of

Wonderful Wednesday - Foster Ray Pics/News!

Image
(MomKatt Laura here:  Finally got a decent shot of his face in the first picture.) And HUGE: this morning befor e I left for work, I was sitting in front of the ottoman ( where he's sitting in the top photo - in the second photo, he's sittin g atop the matching chair ) resting my right hand on it about 3-4 in. f rom Ray as I've been doing as part of my attem pts to get him to allow me to touch/pet him.  Talking to him very softly, telling him the bad times were over and that he was never going to have to go through anything horrible like his past life ever again.   Suddenly, he reached out his right paw and patted/batted my inde x & middle fingers!  THREE TIMES! I was over th e mo on with happiness !  T his is REALLY big for him!  I'm so proud! Gonna cuddle this kitten if it kills me! Rachel is her usual, rapid-fire self.  She's had th e photographic li melight for a few days now, so today is Ray's turn. Oops, sorry Selina!  Yes, you can com

More Pics of Rachel

Mornin' Peeps! Well, our fosters continue to make progress.  M r . Ray is still being coy and it's just breaking MomKatt's heart bec ause he is SO sweet and SO pitiful all at once.  She says she must try to be patient, but that it's hard because she k nows he would respond to a little love & affection.  But he *is* makin g great pro gress elsewhere, so she is very hopeful and optimistic the other will come wi th time. 1.  Ray's continuing to explore the lay of th e office.  When MomKatt comes in, she's finding him on her readin g chair, or on the back of it, and she's left the blinds open so they both can look outside.  H e likes sitti ng on the windowsill. 2.  H e's playing! (MomKatt says sh e'll have to get a new Cat Dancer 'cause he's already tearing the one she ha d for us up.)  He's been active both with Rachel (tentatively) when she's pla ying with a toy and on his o wn.  He fancies a purple fake-fur-covered ca tnip mo

Long Time No Meow! (And Fosters!)

Image
Mornin' peeps!  Long time no meow!  Yes, well, don't blame me:  this is all down to my MomKatt & DadKatt getting bac k from their vacation in Camano Island, WA (boy , were we glad to see them!) and re-adjusting to "real life" ( they both said the best thing about coming home was coming home to us kitties - well duh!  MOL)  They arrived back in NC last Tues., and still had one day of vacation left on Wed., which was spent getting lots of kitty lovin', and doing some laundry, as well as just some good, old-fashioned laziness (with kitties). They REALLY liked the Camano Island/Puget Sound area.  MomKatt even got to visit the Camano Island Shelter (a no-kill facility) and she took p ics of the kitties.  We're going to blog abo u t that in the coming days but first ... I have to introduce some houseguests we have. Does everypurr remember this entry from our frie nd Brian , about Rachel & Ray Charles, t he two black kitties in South Carolina, one of whom
