One Eye on the Future

Barely three days into 2012, and I'm saving MomKatt already from nasty things that invade MY house!  (Um sorry MomKatt ... "our house" ... we quibble over semantics). ANYWAYS ... this morning?  While MomKatt was having coffee & enjoying her last day home before she has to return to The Evil Gulag tomorrow?  There was this bug!  But I didn't know what it was - all I knew was it was flying, and it didn't belong in our house!  So I RUSHED into the dining room and leaped up on the table where MomKatt was having her coffee?    I was miaowing and miaowing, trying to get her attention!  Well, silly woman grabs her iPhone camera, saying, "Selina, I think we have your blog topic for today!" "Sod the blog topic!" I miaowed, fiercely.  "THERE IS A BUG IN THE CEILING LIGHT!" She looked up and, sure enough, saw it in one of the sticky-out things of the chandelier:  "Let me at him!" Mom&DadKatt were SLACKERS yesterday & I didn't get here to wish everyone a Happy New Year on New Year's Day ... so, a day late, a dollar short.  (What's a dollar anyway?  This is one of MomKatt's silly sayings.) Anyway, HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my blogging furriends & their hoomans! You can see what I spent MY New Year's Day doing ... MOL! In other news ... Morticia had to go to the V E T today.  MomKatt snuck her "well kitty" exam in on her.  She wasn't *really* due 'til later this month, but MomKatt wanted to use the last of her in-laws' Xmas money to get 'Ticia's exam taken care of. The good news?  A clean bill of health.  :)  The bad news?  An ear cleaning!  Boy, does my sisfur HATE ear cleanings.  Her right ear is a bit prone to ... *whispers confidentially* ... "WAXY BUILD-UP" ... so apparently they gave her a RIGHT thorough cleaning.   But she's not mad at MomKatt.  In fact, she got to meet ...

Well, it's almost over, folks, and it's sure been an interesting year for me & my furramily.  The best thing about it - other than me getting my furever home - is meeting all of you, and reading all your blogs and sharing your adventures, ups and downs. I hope 2012 is good to us all, and that many other kitties like me (and some of you) find furever homes with folks like the ones we have.  Some hoomans really ARE the best, aren't they? (MomKatt says she hopes to post a pic of her holding me on here VERY soon!  My Uncle Bill sent me a picture of him & Aunt Rose in their Xmas card, so MomKatt got to see what he looked like!) PURRS! Some of you that subscribe to my blog might remember this: http://www.brianshomeblog.com/2011/03/urgent-prayer-request-for-forever-home.html Well, MomKatt & I stumbled on it the other day, and I asked her to save the link so that I could make it my (day after) Xmas blog topic. Firstly, thank you to BRIAN.  If he hadn't blogged about me in the first place, MomKatt would never have seen me, never have sat there at her work & thought, "You're coming home with me!" and never would have BEGGED DadKatt to let her say "Yes!" to my plea.  So that's the first "Thank you" that I owe. The second gies to my Uncle Bill Cain.  He fed me at the country club, you see, and ... I blush to say it, fell in love with me.  He is such a kind man.  He took care of me.  He was the one that I finally asked for help by rubbing on his leg. Without his care and concern, I might not have survived very long.  Now, I shudder to think about all the sad things...

MomKatt was wrapping yesterday and you know where I was!!! Morticia helped a little too. Between the two of us, we got MomKatt all organized!  Black cats are the best for this kind of thing, you know. Now for a nice day of leisurely napping before the pawrents' have their Xmas Eve dinner & stuff tonight.  Tomorrow they journey to DadKatt's pawrents' house for the day. I also got to play with wrapping paper last night!  (And the tape dispenser, and the ink pen, and a bow ....) HOLIDAY PURRS! Selina  

Complaining about winter, are you?  Fed up with the cold drafts coming in underneath the doors in your house? *I*, Selina, have found THE warmest spot in our house.  Now, normally, this contraption is pretty noisy (ours squeaks like a bag of 1,000 raging, cheese-crazed mice) but, when it's finally QUIET ...  OH.  MY.  CAT. This is THE place to snuggle.  MomKatt says it's called a "dryer".  I finally decided I was gonna check this thing out and, before MomKatt could pull the laundry out of it a couple of days ago, I SPRUNG!   (NOTE:  DO NOT spring BEFORE the drying cycle is done, only AFTER .  Otherwise, you'll just end up on top of a pile of soggy, wet hooman clothing.  Ewww!  Trust me, you don't want "wet cat butt" - make that "COLD wet cat butt"!) Anyways, first, I went WAAAAAAAY to the back, where I figured it was the warmest. Then, I wanted to make sure that MomKatt knew I was in there & didn't shut...
