Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes!

Image
Hiya peeps! While fixing his breakfast this morning, my DadKatt walked past me as I was sitting on the end of the kitchen counter and said, "I heard that squeak!"  MomKatt, who was eating her breakfast at the table, asked, "She squeaked?" and DadKatt said, "Yes!  It was cute!"  Sitting down, he continued, "Y'know, she doesn't do those 'RRAWWWOOOOWWWO!' meows much lately!"  (Before I had the run of the entire house, and my home was MomKatt's upstairs office, I'd let out a loud, high-pitched and LONG meow in the mornings when MomKatt came upstairs to open the office door and scoop my litterbox.  It always made her laugh.) Now, MomKatt just laughed.  "She did those 'cause she was so glad to see somebody after being on her own all night!  Now she doesn't have to 'cause she's running the place!"  (It's true.  I *am* a pretty social kitty, and I love being around the pawrents.  I gotta keep my e

Wherein, Selina encourages her creative, but dark, side ...

Now, I'm sure you've all heard that phrase about "art imitating life", right? Well, see what you think: Of course, being the creative kitty that I am, I had to put my own "spin" on it, but I *was* inspired by Basement Cat.  (And, really, who can resist a nice, piping hot unfrosted Blueberry Pop-Tart, fresh out of the toaster?  MomKatt tells me they are delicious with butter melted on them.) Also? I wish to note that I was hanging out at OUR toaster a couple of days BEFORE Basement Cat posted HIS picture at http://icanhascheezburger.com/.  So, technically, I already knew that toasters were cool and I *could* sue for intellectual property rights or idea theft or whatever ... but hey, it's Basement Cat.  He's cool.  So I won't. ADDITIONALLY ... note that I have my front paws well-folded under my chest.  Mark my meow - we're headed for a COLD winter, folks.  MomKatt says my brofur, Feisal, sat this way for the last two years and bo

Happy Saturday!

Just a quick note to all my peeps out there to have a great Saturday!  Me?  Oh nothing much, just curled up here on the couch next to MomKatt, who is taking my dictation. What a life! PURRS! Selina

Your Thursday Tummy

Image
No, sorry, peeps, it isn't MY tummy.  A lady such as myself does NOT show her goodies indiscriminately. But my brofur, Peppers?  Ach, he doesn't have any discriminate, so ... here he is, fresh from ... this morning! (Isn't he a hoot?) In other news, I continue in my quest for SHOO LACES (I don't know why, but I like 'em in all caps like that!  I guess it reflects my PASSION for them!)  Also, this morning, I busily explored the gap between the kitchen floor and the bottoms of the cabinets, wherein I discovered spider webs and got some on my right whiskers (MomKatt cleaned me up - they're all sticky!)  I also love the 'fridge - specifically, when the pawrents open it, I want to get IN it!!  MOL  When it's not open, I hang around it a lot lately.  I'm guarding the food supply!  (Hey, if the hoomans don't eat, WE don't eat.  I know how this works and I'm just looking out for No. 1 here.)   What ch'ya'll doin'? PURRS!

SHOO LACES!

Image
Have any of the rest of ya'll discovered hooman things called "Shoo laces"?  If you haven't, you NEED to.  Like, now.  OK?  S'risly.  They are THE most fun things EVER. Like this morning?  MomKatt was sitting eating her breakfast and NOT paying attention to me (as if a silly old book by some guy named Michael Shermer was more interesting than ME?  NOT!) so ... I grabbed her ankles w/both paws & set about nomming and pulling these "shoo laces" on her tennis shoes.  "Selina, stop it!" she said, trying to shoo me away with her hand.  Yeah, like THAT'S gonna work!  NOT!  "Will you get AWAY from my damn feet, you crazy kitten!" she protested.  RESISTANCE IS FUTILE! I dug in w/my claws and chewed and batted and flipped the laces even harder!  The ends have these great plastic tips that you can really use your back teeth on - plaque cleaners, I call 'em! I paused in my sport for a couple of seconds, in time to see her l

Me & 'Ticia!

Well, here's what Morticia & I did most of the weekend.  How 'bout ya'll? She's in the top bed, I'm in the one below. We hope ALL of you had as relaxing a weekend as we did! PURRS! Selina

Wow, been a long time gone!

MEOWLO PEEPS!  Betcha thought I'd vanished, eh? Nope - I'm BAAAAAACK! In fact, here's me this morning, getting my nutrition in. I was a little WILD THING this morning, but I had to stop to refuel, so MomKatt snapped a pic of me (it's one of the only times I'm still enough for her to take a good one with that crappy cell phone camera she's got!  MOL)  Don't you love the mouse-shaped pad our water bowl sits on?  And it's purple, too.  MomKatt's got a thing about purple ... Let's see ... what's going on with me/us?  Well, things have settled down since Feisal's departure.  MomKatt's feeling better about helping him to the Bridge, and she & DadKatt are being treated to a completely topsy-turvy re-arranging of the hierarchy/pecking order (I'm very near the top now - inching ever closer).  I've endeavored, in my own unique and somewhat zany way, to distract them and make them laugh and, I'm happy to report, my mar

Tuesday laptime

MomKatt stayed home today w/a scratchy throat and a stuffy head.  So ... here's where **I** spent today.  :) :) Yes, I am now a true lap kitty. PURRS! Selina

I'M EATING WITH THE OTHERS!

Image
Look guys!  Look what I was doing just 20 minute ago - yes yes yes! I have for the first time since I arrived in April eaten with all the other cats downstairs in the kitchen this afternoon!!  Mom&DadKatt are so excited and, frankly, so am I!  I'm a full member of the family at LAST! Happy purrs, Selina

HEEEERRRREEEE'S SELINA!

Image
I was playing SO hard yesterday after MomKatt got home!  I was so happy to see her - I even allowed her to snap a photo of me in between BATS of the mylar teaser (I'm just a blur on a cell phone camera, most of the time).  So, like Ed McMahon used to say, "HEERRREEEE'S SELINA!"  MOL Unfortunately, it IS a bit dark, but you can see part of our living room and this VERY annoying stuffed mousie on the floor next to that round kitty bed. (I hear it's heated but it belongs to Sharif.  Never mind, I'll have my way with it come winter and shove his old behuncuss out of it!) PURRS! Selina the brave downstairs explorer
