One Eye on the Future

It's NOT outright hostility - let me meow that right off the bat.  HOWEVER ... since DadKatt brought our "Basement Cat", Boudicca, upstairs to live 24/7 about a month or so back (shortly after Feisal died), I've not been too terribly thrilled.  Yeah, she's OK ... I guess ... but she's got too much Alpha Female in her.  I don't like that.  She ... PRESUMES.  Yes, that's the word.  She PRESUMES too much, especially since she's not been a permanent resident of the upstairs as long as we all have. (True, I was the "newbie" on the block but I *have* resided upstairs since April, so that gives me territory rights.) Morticia will back me up on this.  Boudicca's muscling in on 'Ticia & MomKatt's "Teaser Time" in the pawrents' bedroom by jumping up onto the nightstand on MomKatt's side of the bed and sitting there, watching the teaser when MomKatt runs it back & forth in front of Morticia.  It's like s

Yes, yes, I know.  Another shameless photo op - I know what MomKatt's thinking.  But ... it's Teaser Time so who really cares? It was QUITE a busy Monday morning for me.  The downer was the pawrents had to return to their works this morning.  (MomKatt calls her office "The Gulag".  DadKatt's name for his place of work can't be put, I don't think, in a "furramily" blog.  MOL)  Still, since his car is in the shop, and he had to drive MomKatt to work, she had to wait around while he got ready, so I got in some extra playtime!  Morticia isn't the only kitty at my house that loves to play "Teaser"! Happy Sunday, Peeps! How do you all like my new holiday banner?  Many thanks to The Zoolatry Girls for making that for me!   I think it look spiffy! My holiday was great - how was all of yours?  Believe it?  I tried the honey baked ham ... and wasn't all that impressed!!!  MomKatt was astonished!  But you know, I'd rather have my regular "Land O Frost" ham.  And she says that's ok 'cause they can't have Honey Baked all the time, and we CAN have the LoF ham always so ... yay!  Nothing lost! Mom&DadKatt have to go back to work tomorrow.  :(  They've both been off since Wed. afternoon and it's been so nice having them around the house to wait on me.  But I'm REALLY looking forward to the last week of Dec.  They both have that ENTIRE week off!  "10 glorious days" as MomKatt says (they both don't "live to work" that's for sure.  Good attitude!  Us cats don't, either.)  So that will be here before you know

OK so it's NOT "Wordless" Wed. here on my page just now.  This is me, at breakfast this morning w/Mom&DadKatt.  (MomKatt's reading the new book on Catherine the Great, as you can see.) I'm "practicing" on my technique for my first Thanksgiving with my new furramily.  MomKatt started out with a Weight Watchers egg & cheese English muffin (you can see it on the plate, there) and several times, I reached out to pluck said muffin from the plate with one paw, nearly succeeding one time (I removed the top of the English muffin - DadKatt laughed and laughed)!  But MomKatt said, "No!" (Those bite marks in that one pic aren't mine, but MomKatt's, I regret to say.  Still, it wasn't for lack of trying ... it smelled SO good and I love cheese!) Then, since I spend breakfast with her these days, snuggled down on the table there right by where her left arm usually is, I think it's VERY rude that she reads during this time,

I don't know what ya'll have been up to this morning, but I've been busy chasing and running around and attacking the upstairs bathtub!  (And the shower curtain ... and now I'm chasing invisible things at the bottom of the stairs in the sun puddle!) Pretty soon I'm going to do what every sensible cat does ... I'm going to take a nap.  So I hope ALL my peeps have a wonderpurr Caturday ... and, hey:  take it easy, eh?  Life's too short NOT to nap once in awhile ...  (And if you can get in your hooman's lap, so much the better!)   MOL See what I mean? Ooo it is cold and rainy here today and I'm just FULL of myself this morning!  I'm chasing Morticia, the birds outside are getting me all geared up as I watch them from the side living room window and I'm just READY TO RUMBLE!!!! This is me last weekend, when Mom&DadKatt were preparing to go to VIR (Virginia International Raceway) for the day.  It was a VERY cold day, so DadKatt planned to take his Aston Martin jacket - which is also very fall-like, since it's pumpkin-colored.  Look at my eye color!  It really picked up the yellow in my eye, didn't it?  MomKatt said she'd never seen me with a yellow eye before!  Here's another: Even *I* don't remember what it was I was looking at, but I was QUITE intent about it, wasn't I?  MomKatt said the shot showed off my "graceful body shape"!  MOL  WhatEVER! Another one ... OK raise your paws if you think the mouse mat is just THE coolest water bowl mat EVER!!  (And it is, too!)  (Those are MomKatt's feet BTW.  She cut off my butt, too! MOL) Lastly:

But I AM still here, as these newest photos will evidence.  It was the full moon this week, and of course, I was RARIN' to go for a couple of days, moreso than usual!  (Chasing EVERY cat in the house, going crazy in general, climbing the backs of the dining room chairs ...
