Taken Fri., Jan 25! This is GOMEZ in Uncle Bill's house.  He & Aunt Rose are going to try to take more pictures in the next few days.  MomKatt plans to call him tonight (Sat.) to speak with him & find out how he's doing. Here is another shot:   Hey!  What do ya'll think about a trade:  Boudicca for Gomez?  I know Uncle Bill could probably not keep her, but MomKatt was thinking that, if the CCA organization in Greenville, SC, had a foster home open ...  It's not as crazy an idea as it sounds, is it?  MomKatt asked DadKatt about a "cat trade" last night & he was cool with it, provided that Gomez reacted positively to the two of them. She's going to ask Uncle Bill about it tonight! Uncle Bill REALLY wants Gomez to come to our house.  MOL  I guess he thinks it would be a REALLY good place for him (and I totally agree).  :)  But ... Well, we'll see about that.  Meanwhile, feast your eyes.  He's a VERY handsome mankatt.

Meowlo Peeps! MomKatt contends that, if you want to know her, check out (A) her bookshelves and (B) her 'fridge front. OK here is the 'fridge front.  Where is the picture of ME, you ask?  Who needs a picture when you have the LIVE PRESENCE right there on top? And bear in mind, this is only the freezer door ... MOL!  There's more on the bottom door. So for your "Friday Fun", you can peek at our 'fridge front. Also?  Boudicca's so fat gastrically-challenged she can't get up here to get at me if she gets loose in the house.  So it's one of my three "safe zones" (the other being on top of the cabinets just above my head in this picture, and MomKatt's lap on the sofa).   Tee hee!  I just sit up here & LAUGH at her.   NOTE ON BOUDICCA:  MomKatt would even love if if she could find someone willing to FOSTER her. Meowlo, Peeps! OK I know you've been wondering about Gomez, my cousin down in South Carolina that my Uncle Bill was going to attempt to capture & bring indoors for adoption. Well ... MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Earlier this week, Uncle Bill and another man who is REALLY dedicated to trapping and saving/spaying/neutering outdoor kitties, succeeded in capturing Gomez, and he's now in my Uncle Bill's home - warm, loved, safe and ... well, adjusting!  Actually, he'd had a pretty traumatic time:  captured, taken to the V E T, neutered, thoroughly checked out, shots, etc etc. And once Uncle Bill feels he is ready, Mr. Gomez will be available for adoption.  The EXCELLENT medical news is that Gomez is in 100% PURRFECT health!  No nasties!  We were very relieved about that, to say the least. Uncle Bill is going to get more pictures of him - and better ones, too, now that he's indoors - but, understandably, the last couple of days Gomez has just spent getting acclim

Meowlo Peeps: Mom& DadKatt are a bit desperate and REALLY need some help with this one, and I'm reaching out my paw to "do my part" in this.  They are trying once again to find a forever home for my sisfur, Boudicca, the one that does n ot like me .   I'll let my MomKatt take over now: *************** For those of you that don't know, we have a kitty named Boudicca that has been living with us about 3-4 years (I'd have to check the exact date we got her).  She wandered into our yard one snowy weekend in Reidsville and Gary felt sorry for her & took her into our basement.  She's been with us ever since (the link to her Catster page is below, with more information about her and her story, as are some individual pictures).  She's about 4 years old, a "cow cat", black & white, VERY sweet, VERY loving. Meowlo, peeps! Ya'll know that old saying:  "The squeaky wheel gets the grease."  Well, being a cat, my wheel meows rather than squeaks (I leave that pathetic noise to the mi ce).   You'll recall that I meowed here a coupl e of day s ago (and quite vociferously, too, I might add) concerning the slackness of a certain member of our household ( beloved though he is ). It turned out to be the meow heard 'round the ba semen t of our house. INTRODUCIN G ..... * cue drum roll* ... OUR NEW CAT TREE!!!!!!!!! Here is a profile shot: Now, to other kitty news:  GOMEZ UPDATE !!!!   Uncle Bill called MomKatt last night.  We hadn't wanted to say anything about this but, when he called Sunday night, he was VERY worried because Gomez did not show up that night for his dinner.  He said then that, in the year he's been feeding him, this was only the second time that Gomez hadn't shown.  The really worrisome part was:  they have coyotes in that area.   MomKatt & he agreed that night to be optimistic.  She told him that Oliver, our resident "porch panther", often goes on walk-about sometimes, and that she's learned to be patient and he will show back up in 1-2 days.  She said she just *knew* the same thing would happen with Gomez. SUBJECT:   DadKatt CRIME:      Untimely photo offloadin g My buddy, Keisha , is showing off a prize - PRIZE! - cat tree. And what am *I* showing, you may ask?  A whole lotta N UTHIN', that's what.  And WHY? Because that HOOMAN pic tured above - yes, my DadKatt, who is otherwise a nice, reasonable, affection hooman bean - is dr agging his feet and failing to download the Xmas pictures from his digital camera so that I can blog about my AWESOME , STUNNING & YOU'RE -SO -GOING-TO-WANT-ONE cat tree that Santa Paws brought me for Xmas.  (Ok, ok he brought it for all of us kitties and , yes, Morticia *really* loves to get int o the top bed & look out the door but ... bear with me, OK?) Quick post ...  here is the picture of my brother, half-brother, sibling, relation., courtesy of my Uncle Bill. MomKatt's going to call him back in a few minutes.  He just called our house & we missed him by about 2 minutes! Isn't he handsome?  He's got that big male head going on.  I REALLY hope we can find him a furrever home!!  (If you don't know about this, see my post previous to this one for details.) We need a name and, in honor of my sisfur, Morticia, I propose we name him GOMEZ! PURRS! Selina PS - MomKatt just talked to Uncle Bill.  It seems that, since their last phone conversation in the previous blog entry, he can now PICK GOMEZ UP, HOLD HIM, LOVE ON HIM, ETC.!  In just this short amount of time, Uncle Bill told her, Gomez "can't get enough love"!   So we think that socialization will NOT be a problem with him!!!  GREAT NEWS!

OK I open this first with an apology to my Uncle Bill.  He called MomKatt at New Year's and asked that we blog about this, and things happened with Livia that sidetracked us.  We know he'll understand, but we're sorry to not have gotten onto this sooner. Having said THAT, here is what Uncle Bill called MomKatt about (besides checking on this little uniocular feline, of course). As I think I've said to you all before, even after I left, Uncle Bill has continued to feed & care for several of the feral kitties that hang out at the country club dumpster/golf cart house where he found me.  We SO admire him for doing this and he's really devoted to the cats. But there is one, he says, that is a black male, a little over one year old and who he tells MomKatt STRONGLY reminds him of me - in actions, in looks, etc. (except that he has both his eyes).  He's worked with him and gotten this little black boy to coming to him when he shows up with the food and fe

Something wonderful happened yesterday. A box arrived for MomKatt, which she discovered waiting for her on the front porch when she got home from work.  She opened it to find: She read the card first, and was in tears at the beautiful, loving words written within. Then she opened each of the four tissue-wrapped packages and found:  These are angel kitties, made by our furriend, Laura Strickland of The Cat In The Clover , who has an etsy shop & makes wonderful things like this.  They represent four of the five of my siblings that are now at The Bridge enjoying their Tenth Inning - Feisal, Livia, Kukla & Torrie - and were sent from Miz Amy, who is mom to Feisal's wife, the lovely black Zilla (whom y'all don't know but, trust me, this was one gorgeous black kitty, who just recently made the trip to The Bridge herself).  I guess Miz Amy initially wanted to honor Livia, then figured she'd "catch MomKatt up" on the others who had gone before h

Meowlo, Peeps! Since it's Morticia's day on the blog, I thought I'd share some new photos taken of my pretty black sisfur this morning.  She really DOES have beautiful eyes. Her whiskers are balanced again, too.  MOL  She now has one white whisker on each side - she previously did a few weeks ago, but one dropped off, leaving her lop-sided.  Now another one has come in.  ;-) Better her than me!  (She says salt-and-peppers whiskers are sexy.  Whatever.  MOL) Oh, here she is with Peppers this morning, a little later after these shots. I think she's a bit disgusted about annoyed by having her "alone time" on the bed interrupted by him, don't you?  MOL BROFURS!!
