International Box Day, eh?

Image
Ok this sounds like fun! Well, the bad news is:  there are NO pictures of me in a box. Yet. The good news is, I have pics of some of my sibs in boxes.  I'd be happy to share this with The Cat Blogosphere if someone would meow how to do it. So, without further ado: 1.  My brofur, Feisal, in a box (DadKatt LOVES Belhaven Scottish Ale: 2.  Feisal again, in a cube.  These two are sort of sequential ... kinda ... (lousy cell phone cam):  Well, his FRONT end is in it, anyway.   (You *do* have to laugh at his head poking up through the hole, there.  MOL) 3.  Now here's Peppers, doing what he does best (i.e, not a whole lot MOL MOL!): Organizing boxes count, right? 4.  And here he is again, backlit: 5.  Next up is my Meezer brofur, Sharif, who's in the dryer - it's as close as I can get to having a pic of him in a "box"-like thing (which is odd, because he LOVES boxes, big time, so you'd think Mom&DadKatt would'

WIGGLY WEDNESDAY!

Image
Well, here we are again at another Wiggly Wednesday.  Where DOES the time go?  At least, that's what MomKatt constantly asks:  she should be a cat, we don't tell time and don't care, really.   So what have I been up to?  DESTROYING THINGS!  Well, not really "destroying" as in breaking things into pieces, just marauding objects upstairs such as trash cans (a METAL one in the upstairs bathroom - oh, you should HEAR the "CLANG!" it makes when I push it over! MOL! MOL) And there is this HUGE white shower stall in the upstairs bath - have I been having fun with THAT!?  Did you know, you can hide in it and LEAP OUT at hoomans or - better still - other kittehs when they come up to it?  The trick, though, is that the tub/shower is white, and I'm black so I'm easily seen ... however, MomKatt showed me a "shower curtain", the lining of which goes in the shower and curtain itself goes outSIDE the shower ... so I can hide either in the bathtub

'TICIA TUESDAY

Image
I think that Tuesdays will be for my sisfur, Morticia (or 'Ticia as MomKatt often calls her).  It was a special day yesterday for her.  She is wedded to a very nice, handsome black kitty on Catster named Hudson ("The Mightiest Kitty in Rome" - how's THAT for a nickname?) and yesterday was their third wedding anniversary!  Here is their wedding portrait:   Their wedding was Elizabethan/Tudor themed (that's Hampton Court Palace in the background, the scene of the nuptials) and 'Ticia is wearing a gown she borrowed from one of Elizabeth I's so-called "Sieve Portraits" (because she is carrying a sieve in her left paw, a symbol in Tudor times of virginity and, therefore, appropriate for "The Virgin Queen").  Hudson borrowed his finery from Elizabeth's good friend, Sir Robert Dudley, the Earl of Leicester.   Don't they make a fine pair?  They were married by an archbishop, too!  And their Master of Revels was dressed as Henry

MEOWY MONDAY

Oh dear!  Morning peeps!  It's been a bit TOO long since I've meowed at you all!  I didn't forget you! MomKatt had a busy weekend, starting Friday with her annual physical.  She's losing weight with Weight Watchers and found out she's lost, in 6 weeks, 14.6 lbs!  (As you can see, *I* do not have that problem, being the tubular, long kitty that I am!)  But I'm very purrrroud of her 'cause she's working REALLY hard - I get the urge to nap heavily just THINKING about how hard she's working.  (She's a runner - in THIS heat?  Nutso *circles paw next to side of head*  But it's working sooo ... this kitty don't argue with results!  MOL) So how are you all?  Gimme a shout & let me know!  I hope you all have a PURRRRFECT week. Abys

Image
GOOD THURSDAY MORNING! I think today I'll write about two of my siblings, Livia, a blue Abyssinian, and Feisal, a ruddy Abyssinian.  Here are pictures - the first one is Livia.   Livia is as sweet as they come.  She's a Blue Abyssinian, 11 years old, with beautiful green eyes and a shrimp-colored belly.  All she wants out of life is to eat and be loved on constantly, 24/7.  She's never unhappy, always up for petting and lovins and rarely meows.  She's got big ears, too! (I understand Abys are supposed to have large ears set far apart on their heads.) This is Feisal:   You may all recall I mentioned a "villain" in my household?  Well, Feisal is it.  He's 10 years old.  He stalks me.  He doesn't like me much and I don't know why.  I hiss at him just like I hiss at everyone else but he will come upstairs DELIBERATELY to find and harass me.  We've been in a couple of full-on screaming matches in the last 2-3 weeks especially.  MomKatt tell

WIGGLY WEDNESDAY!

*wiggles on into the blog, singing to herself*  I'm just a wigglin' fool ... oh ah'm a wigglin' fool ... I wiggle on Monday ... Then I wiggle onTuesday ... and as for Wednesday ........ Oh, HAI !  You caught me wigglin' - it's what I do best, but ESPECIALLY on Wednesdays!  So, I'm naming my Wednesday entries "Wiggly Wednesday"! My furriend, Athena, chose me as a Kreative Blogger, and picked me to play a game.  I'm now supposed to tell five things about myself.  So let's see here ...  1.  Well ... I WIGGLE!  A lot!  I'm just a squirmy kinda gal! 2.  Teasers!  I love 'em!  All kinds!  Any kind!  Just dangle it in front of me and I'm anyone's! 3.  Hissing - It should be an Olympic sport - and I'd be the captain of the USA Team HISS!  (Well, I'm still doing it to my siblings, to my MomKatt's regret, but not AS much as I have been.  She told DadKatt the other night she thought I was "tapering off".  Pff

Meowy Monday

Image
Well, meowlo to all my peeps!  I hope everyone had a good weekend and a good DadKatt's Day!  Did you give your DadKatts extra lovins?  I hope so.  Me?  Wel, MomKatt used the computer more than usual this Sun. (usually, she takes Sun. off from the laptop), so I got extra time with her on the keyboard (and, of course, I tried to make MY impression on the keyboard but I kept getting removed from it.  Hey, a cat's gotta meow, doesn't she?)  So ... CAT TEASERS!  They're great, aren't they?  MomKatt plans to post a pic of me playing with my new teaser, which has feathers AND little dangly things sprouting off of the feathers that make it look like a jester's hat!  It's really, really cool.  I think I love teasers the best of all my toys - hey, why don't you tell me what YOUR favorite cat toys are?   I also have a little homemade catnip sock that someone put in one of my adoption "care" packages - it's a little pink hooman baby sock filled w

CATSTER DIARY OF THE DAY!

Not to brag but ... MomKatt just found out that I'm Catster's Diary of the Day" for today, and on DadKatt's Day!  Whoohoo!  He will be so proud of me! PURRS! Selina

HAPPY DADKATT'S DAY!

Image
Today is DadKatt's Day and I purrsonally don't think DadKatts get enough credit, so today's post is gonna be about DadKatts, specifically, MY DadKatt.  Here he is in a picture: He's what is called a "ham", where he sits in our basement (the "ManKattKave") behind all these screens and heavy-looking metal boxes and other things with knobs on them and twiddles the knobs and talks into this stick called  a microphone to people all around the world.  There's all kinds of beeping and booping and squawking going on down there when he's doing this, but he does this because he loves to and he's been doing it for about 30 years.  I'm told cats cannot do this, or be hams, or get "licensed".  But (and here's why he is a special DadKatt) he doesn't do it in the basement alone. Meet Boudicca: She's the "Basement Cat" in this house (yes!  We have an official "basement cat", though the roles are revers

SLINKY SATURDAY!

Image
Good Saturday afternoon to one & all!  Can you see me up here?  MomKatt took this pic only a couple of hours ago with her cell phone.  Can you believe I sat still long enough to get a good shot of me on that thing?  MOL  Usually, she says I just come out all blurry! Anywho, can't stay, got so much to do (and right now, I have to lie on MomKatt's bare feet while she types my blog entry and purr like a madcat and love on her).  Busy, busy, BUSY! Hoping all my peeps are having an awesome Saturday! PURRS! Selina the slinky

FURRY FRIDAY!

Image
It's FURRY FRIDAY!  I'm ready - are you?  I'm going to have MomKatt my prisoner (mwah ha ha ha) for at least part of the weekend!  I'm going to be helping her post eBay auctions!  (I take it she doesn't want me walking on the laptop keyboard while she's doing this but of COURSE, I must supervise this enterprise ... whatever eBay is ... guess I'll find out, eh?) I shall continue catching everyone up on what I've been doing since I got here this weekend but, in the meantime, you can check out my sisfur, Morticia, just before Mom&DadKatt went to Richmond, VA, for the DEVO concert awhile back.  Does she not ROCK? PURRS! Selina

Introductions - My furramily & my homecoming

Image
Meowlo, all!  Happy Friday Eve!  MomKatt's gearing up for the weekend here - what plans does everyone have?  Me?  I'm gonna write in my new blog! Let's see ... I've decided ya'll should meet my furever furramily, both two-and-four-leggers (or "pink monkeys" as MomKatt calls herself & my DadKatt MOL).  I also told MomKatt the best way to do this would be to feature a furramily member every day 'til we've covered them all.  So let's begin, shall we?   Hoomans first or cats?  Well, since they feed & care for us, guess I'll start with the hoomans. MomKatt is my typist.  She's pretty fast, too, when I'm not standing in front of the laptop wanting to be hugged/petted, or walking across the keyboard.  (Advice to all you cats out there:  if you can pick a typist who's also a writer, you're getting a paw up on things.  They are called to pour out their thoughts on a computer anyway, merely by inclination, so it's re

Hi, I'm Selina, formerly known as Faith!

And I welcome you to my blog!  This is gonna be all about ME!  Meanwhile, my typist (MomKatt) will be learning how to make my pages all clean & nice & pretty!  My story was first told on here by a great kitty named Brian and his two-legger, and this is where MomKatt first saw my picture, read my story and made her mind up to give me a home!  And SO many wonderful, caring people expressed an interest in keeping up with me once I got to my new furever home and acquired my new name (named after Selina Kyle in the "Batman" stories, Catwoman's human name) that MomKatt decided, once she got time, that she was going to start a blog for me so that anyone that was interested could follow my story and my adventures in my new life. So ... without further ado ... and hopefully with some help from Brian's human (MomKatt's already warned him she's going to be bugging him about fixing up my pages, etc.) ... here's ME! PURRS! Selina
